We are seeking a highly motivated, confident individual to join our Business Development team as a Communication & Pursuits Strategist (CaPS). As a CaPS, you provide strategic and tactical support to help win and retain business. You actively participate in developing pursuit strategies, and take responsibility for managing the end-to-end pursuit process, including articulating win themes, developing and writing pursuit materials and proposals, and supporting teams for oral presentations. You work closely with Business Development Executives and client service Partners and professionals.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include the following:

  • Researches, writes and edits high-quality, customized proposals and other collateral during the pursuit cycle

  • Drives the strategic communication process on the firm’s largest, most complex and strategically significant pursuits, including planning and managing the flow of information from contributors to setting meet all deadlines and following through on pursuit team action items

  • Develops communication strategies, key themes and messages to highlight the firm’s value proposition, differentiating strengths, thought leadership, global capabilities and resources to properly position the team for success

  • Facilitates meetings with pursuit team members throughout the pursuit cycle, monitoring the progress of all pursuit activities to ensure adherence to deadlines and quality standards

  • Reviews final materials to ensure that the document quality, format and content meet the pursuit objectives and are consistent with the firm’s brand and quality standards

  • Serves as a liaison between pursuit teams, Creative Services and other support functions

  • Ensures compliance with firm’s independence policy and risk standards

  • Builds and leverages relationships with service line/market segment leaders, and identifies opportunities to build strategic alliances to achieve business goals

  • Acts as a coach-player, helping not only to develop and adapt pursuit leading practices on large strategic pursuits, but also to cascade the learnings from these pursuits across the team to make sure these practices are applied on pursuits across the team

  • Provides direction and mentoring to more junior team members

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (major in Language, Communications, Marketing or Business); graduate degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • Minimum 7-10 years relevant proposal experience preferred. Past experience in professional services (e.g., accounting, management consulting, legal, architectural, engineering) highly desirable.

  • Very strong written and verbal communication, as well as facilitation skills

  • A high level of business acumen and knowledge, and the ability to quickly develop an understanding of the clients’ business issues

  • Creative, detail-oriented with demonstrated project management skills and experience

  • Ability to interact effectively and influence across all levels of the organization

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and coordinate multiple projects at one time

  • Highly-developed computer skills
