EY’s successful Indirect Tax Practice in Aucklandis an integrated & collaborative team of tax professionals advising the best clients in the New Zealand market. We are currently looking to supplement and add to our team with an experienced Indirect Tax Manager that can deliver value to our clients and people.

About the opportunity

In your role as a Manager you’ll:

  • Manager a diverse client base with technical advice on how to manage their indirect tax risk and compliance obligations

  • Help leading organisations to identify risk areas and sustainable planning opportunities for indirect taxes throughout the tax life cycle

  • Identify opportunities to reduce the indirect tax impost for your clients

  • Address a wide range of issues and problems, and help clients to meet their business goals around the world

  • Contribute commercial expertise and gain substantial exposure to indirect tax audits across industries

  • Pro-actively manage existing clients and contribute to identifying, pursuing and winning new clients

  • Mentor and supervise junior staff members

About you

We’re looking for people with the following experience:

  • Experience within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm, law firm or Top Tier business consultancy environment is preferable

  • Strong technical tax skills in the field of indirect tax including GST & customs

  • Strong analytical and research skills

  • Indirect Tax data analytics experience

  • Excellent time management; being able to work with a number of different clients and internal stakeholders

  • Ability to contribute to the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring tax excellence with real and valuable solutions

  • Ability to remain focused and productive in a fast paced environment
