The IAM & PKI Engineering Lead directs the activities supporting IAM service design, implementation and technical support. The role supports the design, building and enhancement of end-to-end IAM services by working with senior leadership to understand the intended outcomes and benefits of, for example, automation initiatives and guides or supports select improvement directives with others in Information Security and IAM services such as strategy, architecture, and operations. The role oversees the planning and implementation of a technical plan and roadmap to capture the short term and long term goals for IAM services; ensures the operational readiness of current IAM processes and services; and manages the orderly transition to the next generation of IAM functionality.

The role is responsible for:

  • Delivering identity and access management capabilities across the organization, working with an array of stakeholders across the organization and external vendors to ensure the security of IAM,

  • Managing a large portfolio of IAM services,

  • Tracking ongoing service performance directives aligned to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Critical Success factors (CSFs) to drive or influence improvements in performance and to analyze and compile trends for further review and action,

  • Seeking opportunities to streamline, strengthen and automate IAM processes, procedures and service targets,

  • Supporting recruitment and other staffing processes, including benchmarking, staff utilization as well as business management metrics and directives, and Managing the activities of direct reports responsible for such things as directory services, authentication services, federation services, PKI services, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight to validate that IAM services align with requirements set by the Information Security Policy and Strategy teams as well as maximize efficiencies

  • Oversees IAM engineering team leads and their associated team members in design, implementation, maintenance, support and technical project work to ensure objectives are met

  • Influence and collaborate with other senior leaders and teams as necessary to design solutions, resolve operational problems and minimize cycle time for problem resolution

  • Direct continuous improvement processes and root cause analysis to eliminate waste and provide improvements to service level objectives

  • Mentor leaders to ensure proper knowledge transfer, communications and instruction within the team and with other teams is occurring

  • Manage the implementation of the IAM service strategy aligned to overall Information Security and IT service directives in automation or general process improvement

  • Review business requests for IAM service enhancements and undertakes business case analysis to evaluate the aligned cost benefits, review operating standards and prioritization

  • Manage and guide continuous improvement efforts to direct budget and scope management of all planned and in progress projects and directives for the assigned business.

  • Manage and/or report on remediation and other activities up to and including the transition phase providing assurance of the final acceptance of new or modified IAM services.

  • Manage or support and review the proper change-over from testing and production-ready to the live environment

  • Direct the quality management processes across the IAM engineering team through a review of analytics to assess operational readiness and overall adherence to Operational Level Agreements (OLA) as well as Service Level Agreements (SLA)

  • Identify and manage IAM service improvement projects and activities

  • Lead best practice efforts across the IAM engineering team to establish and embed a formal knowledge management process including the development, delivery and maintenance of a unified knowledge repository utilizing shared EY communication resources including SharePoint

  • Manage teams and projects by delegating work effectively and using appropriate resources. Utilize the proper people, time and project management disciplines across a diverse culture and multiple time zones.

  • Resolve team conflicts with a proven ability to implement and communicate difficult decisions as well as provide team and peer mentoring as appropriate.

  • Support management by driving aspects of the recruitment process such as maintenance of appropriate job descriptions or reporting on appropriate staff utilization in any location.


  • College degree in related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.) or comparable job experiences

  • Approximately 10 to 12 years of experience in an IAM engineering and/or management role. Able to exhibit a progression of increasingly complex job responsibilities during the period inclusive of project and service management skills and service remediation techniques and planning.

  • Fluent in English language - written and verbal

  • Flexibility in scheduling with a willingness to work non-standard hours on occasion

  • Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations such as restoring services, and with people in high pressure situations

  • Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team structure, but also independently

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to meet agreed deadlines with demonstrable productivity

  • Some travel may be required based on project or operational needs
