EY's Transaction Advisory Services practice is currently looking for a Vice President – Transaction Real Estate (“TRE”) to join our full service real estate team in Vancouver.

Our Transaction Real Estate practice in Canada is part of a team of 500 dedicated real estate transaction professionals located around the globe. These professionals help plan, execute and integrate their clients' transactions strategy effectively, both domestically and across global markets.



We are looking for a team member who is a strong team player and who will:

  • Assist in pitching for new work, including researching the market and its key players.

  • Support the team in identifying and exploring potential new business including assisting with the preparation of proposals.

  • Prepare the marketing materials and presentations for client meetings

  • Review and understand the trends in the Western Canadian Real Estate Market

  • Project manage a valuation, transaction or advisory assignment

  • Synthesize research information to be used in modeling, competitive analysis, industry analysis, negotiation support and various other applicationsrelated to both private and public real estate markets

  • Assist in real estate due diligence for buy-side or sell-side transactions.

  • Develop and review financial models within broadly defined guidelines

  • Critically review valuations and models of real estate companies, funds, and other property vehicles

  • Support the team with coaching and mentoring

  • Work on multiple client engagements and marketing opportunities simultaneously


We are interested in candidates who have:

  • An Undergraduate degree (preferably with a CA, CFA, CBV, AACI or MBA)

  • A strong understanding (6 years) of the commercial real estate industry in Western Canada

  • Strong valuation skills with a focus on real estate;

  • The interest and aptitude - and possibly experience - to excel in other aspects of TRE work (strategy, M & A, due diligence, etc).

  • Working knowledge of IFRS from a real estate perspective

  • Well-connected in the real estate sector in Western Canada

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong computer and financial modeling skills

  • Understanding of key real estate value drivers, risks and opportunities

The successful candidate for this position will have strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills, superior analytical skills, demonstrated project and/or people management skills and have been recognized for their "roll up the sleeves" attitude and high levels of creative energy and enthusiasm.
