I ntroduction:

The EY People Advisory services practice work closely with clients who have an internationally mobile workforce. We serve large MNCs as well as reputable local enterprises on all areas of effective planning of cross-border issues for their international assignees. EY are the leading firm in this business in Greater China. The services that we provide our clients in this area includes tax return compliance, tax planning to both the assignees and the employer, consulting services on effective compensation structuring (including equity based remuneration schemes) for international assignees, immigration and other employment related issues offering, such as working with companies on expatriate policy design and implementation, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Review calculations and work prepared by staff accountants

  • Perform complex research and interpretation of tax laws and regulations

  • Prepare tax planning advice and analyze the various policies/programs (e.g. tax equalization scheme, stock option program) of the clients

  • Be involved in supervised interaction with clients - e.g. attend client meetings/calls with manager

  • Communicate well and manage client expectations.

  • Supervise and coach junior staff accountants in routine compliance work from an efficiency and accuracy perspective.

  • Possess and continually increase the following engagement management skills:

  • Analyze time and draft billing. Assist in drafting budgets and work plans for the tax season

  • Delegate work to staff accountants, temporary tax preparers, engagement coordinators and administrative assistants and act as the first point of contact

  • Participate in client entrance and exit interviews

  • Assist in drafting engagement letters

Requirements:

  • University graduates with a minimum of 3-4 years compliance & consulting experience with a focus on personal tax, compensation and benefits in another international consulting firm or similar background

  • Possess technical capabilities in aspects of personal tax for this level

  • Experience in handling a large client portfolio for both MNCs and local enterprises

  • Good communication skills

  • Team player, energetic, mature and flexible

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
