Summary:

This role has been created to support the Beacon Institute’s next phase of growth. Primary responsibilities will be for:

  • pursuing leads for maximizing Beacon’s impact via EY account teams and professional networking,

  • mobilizing senior stakeholders as active Purpose advocates via consultation and client engagements,

  • supporting Institute operations and business development opportunities within the Institute’s community.

In this capacity, the role connects with all four EY service lines and Global Markets in a firm-wide effort to activate purpose through our accounts and strategic solutions. Priorities for the role include, but are not limited to: owning 2-4 projects within the Institute’s commercialization workstream; collaborating with business development, account teams and clients, marketing and account coordinators to improve the Institute’s connectivity with EY’s go-to-market initiatives; managing the Beacon community of executives, entrepreneurs, academics and thought leaders and overseeing temporary resources to plan and execute special projects and events.

Essential Functions of the role:

  • Generate commercial opportunities via either direct engagement with client contacts or as a result of discussion with account teams; i.e. working in an advisory capacity on proposals with purpose-related offerings.

  • Demonstrate commercial agility and effectiveness in articulating the Beacon Institutes value proposition and identifying (then responding to) prospective stakeholder needs.

  • Collaborate with Beacon Team members and Purpose ambassadors within the firm to connect our GCSP and RMP’s to opportunities identified following client outreach.

  • Manage and maintain Beacon’s commercialization plan - ongoing maintenance of relationship tracker, planning timelines and budget, plus maintaining the team knowledge repository (shared drive), and applying project management skills to initiatives where required.

  • Build the Institute’s external brand and leading position on purpose - support the development and engagement of EY Beacon Institute’s external community of executives, entrepreneurs, academics and thought leaders. Particular support will be expected for 4 client workshops which EY Beacon is planning to host with the Oxford Saïd Business School on Purpose activation.

  • Contribute to EY commercialization of purpose – generating support materials for client-facing teams, working on pursuits and with business development to effectively responding on opportunities, and ensuring the Institute’s activities are mapped within the InterAction system.

  • Engage with key stakeholders to promote the Institute’s value internally – liaising with identified priority account teams, supporting RFPs and client FAQ demands with purpose content, connecting with operations peers for purpose-led transformation to monitor opportunities, wins and losses.

  • Oversee SLA’s with the Global Delivery Services (GDS) and other internal teams – ensuring return of investment for agreed work effort amongst respective teams, managing routine tasks and due diligence oversight of deliverables.

  • Support the onboarding of junior or temporary team members – working with HR, Mobility teams and Risk to identify and process new resources, acting as a mentor to accelerate their understanding of purpose-led transformation and advising on areas for professional development.

  • Responsible for moderate to complex projects that require the ability to create and implement timelines related to key deliverables, assign tasks and follow up on their completion and manage stakeholder expectations of deliverable outcomes.

  • Understands the firm’s go-to-market strategy and service delivery models, how core business services support business lines, and how knowledge collaboration strategies enable exceptional client service and high performing teams.

  • Understands EY Vision 2020 and ensures key collaboration activities are aligned to them.

  • Adheres to all firm policies, guidelines and standards in relation to responsible use of collaboration platforms and solution configuration.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Managing projects - Good project management skills and a solid understanding of project management practices and tools.

Operating commercially - understands the business and demonstrates commercial acumen using appropriate language that frames purpose in the context of business objectives.

Inclusive communicator – strong written and oral communication skills to talk about programs in a clear, compelling manner with a professional demeanor. Good networker, effect at working as part of a virtual team with people across levels and backgrounds.

Effective operations - strong project management skills with ability to operate as both a strategic thinker and internal business operator. Ability to establish credibility and buy-in from senior stakeholders.

Adjusting to change – resilient, practical and self-starter. Able to work independently and as part of wider team. Understanding of change management approaches and experience with implementation.

Driving success – delivery-focused with proven experience in implementing initiatives in a commercial / professional services environment. Passion for purpose, strong sense of teaming and work ethic.

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Works independently with limited supervision, manages own deadlines.

  • Collaborates with Beacon’s Client Services Leader for commercialization of Purpose activities.

  • Provides coaching, development and direction to other less experienced team members.

Other Requirements:

  • Overtime and travel (infrequent) may occasionally be required to meet project commitments.

  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate workload and multiple time zones as needed.

Education:

  • University/Bachelor’s degree caliber
