Global Tax are increasingly teaming up across Service Lines and Sub-Service Lines to go to market, and are looking for a Global Tax Markets Senior Associate to join our team and support various cross Service Line and Tax Sub-Service Line initiatives.
The individual will be responsible for supporting key Vision 2020 strategic initiatives and markets related activity to support account teams. The individual will provide critical insight to the team, contributing to the development of key projects; this role will allow the individual to develop a strategic view of how Tax operates on overall markets activity and accounts.
Supporting the Tax Account Leader (TAL) Community:
Manage the Global TAL Connection program – a bi-monthly webcast to connect TALs, profile key topics and share leading practices
Supporting TAL Learning & Development projects and activities (e.g. working with Tax Talent to develop resources for TALs and Tax Market Segment Leaders (TMSLs))
Responsible for managing TAL,TMSL and Global Tax Business Development (BD) SharePoint sites
Supporting Key Leadership Meetings, Events and Strategic Initiatives :
Assisting to build collateral for regular meetings, e.g. Tax Executive Committee, Global Executive
Supporting content development for the annual Global Tax Leadership Group meeting
Assist in organizing and preparing internal workshops, webcasts, etc.
Preparation of internal and external communications materials, e.g. go to market client materials
Support with ad hoc Global Tax strategic initiatives, as required by leadership
Pipeline Reporting :
- Working to tight deadlines to collate information on wins/opportunities for internal communications and reports for leadership
Assessment of Service Quality (ASQ) Programme:
- Managing preparation of monthly Tax activity for Tax Executive and Tax Sub-service line leaders
Internship Programme :
- Managing Global Tax Markets internship programme, including working with HR to ensure pipeline of candidates and recruitment activity, managing onboarding of new interns. Interns will report to you.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
Typical challenges might include ensuring senior leaders and partners provide input on a project by a specific deadline, or delivering on leadership requests at short notice, which will require careful management and the ability to influence people more senior to you.
The ability to use your own interpretation and judgment will be important, while consulting with leadership and colleagues as appropriate. For example, when sourcing topics for TAL webcasts you would liaise with colleagues from our Tax Sub-Service Lines to source ideas, and make recommendations to the program sponsor.
Due to the senior nature of our stakeholders, there will be a degree of supervision to ensure quality of deliverables and effective positioning.
Role will supervise interns working with the team, and team with colleagues in India, ensuring they meet deliverables and escalating where necessary
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
You will have the following knowledge and experience:
Understanding of EY’s organizational (Global Executive and Countries) and operational (Service Lines and Functions) structure
Understanding of EY’s financial metrics / processes / reporting.
Strong project management, multi-tasking and time management skills
Proficient at delivering the highest quality of work within deadlines
Keen attention to detail and focus on data integrity
Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
Confidence and maturity to work effectively with senior leaders in the Executive
Proven ability in collection, analysis, and synthesis of information
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Proactive, self starter
Ability to support a range of senior stakeholders with competing demands
Ideally, undergraduate degree.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Tax sub-service line in EY, or a fast paced working environment where exceptional client service, quality of deliverables and timeliness is paramount
