The EMEIA Tax Centre (ETC) is seeking a Tax Manager to join the London team to work with multinationals to deliver their group tax accounting on a quarterly basis.
The ETC team work to prepare and review US GAAP and IFRS quarterly accounting packs prepared in our team or throughout the EY network. As a key member of this team, you will work with EY and client professionals from all over the world, learning how to interact with various cultures and grow into a more diversified professional.
The EMEIA Tax Centre (ETC) operates as a virtual hub of highly specialized tax professionals from across EMEIA with a primary focus on expanding our service capability and speed to market for Priority Accounts.
Designed to support, complement and enhance the efforts of our EMEIA sub-Area tax professionals in pursuit and client service activities, the ETC offers increased access to leading-edge thinking and truly borderless service for our clients.
To support these processes on large, complex outsource engagements, EY deploy specialist Global Process Owner (GPOs) to manage their respective work streams and act as the key contact for the client respective process controller for all countries. GPOs ensure EY Local Teams submit in accordance with Global standardized processes and in line with contract. All team members have a history of technical delivery for their respective specialty area.
The ETC GCR team comprises professionals based in Belgium, France, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania and the United Kingdom.
Your key responsibilities :
As a manager you will be responsible for coordinating & leading quarterly accounting projects. This can include the development of timetable with clients, identifying resource needs, managing the delivery process, issue resolution, reviewing EY Central & Local prepared provisions as well as being the main client contact.
Other duties will include maintaining visibility over direct tax deliverables, reporting on direct tax matters, managing & resolving compliance issues, reviewing local country tax view packs, improving EY methodology & managing transition for direct tax & tax accounting.
Skills and attributes for success :
Broad understanding of corporate income tax compliance (typically this will be based on the legislation of your country)
Excellent project management skills and highly organized
Proven ability to lead multiple tasks effectively
Basic awareness of other services delivered including transfer pricing, Indirect Tax Compliance, Financial Statement Close Process
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Analytical ability to enable identification of continuous improvement opportunities both internally and externally
Willing to travel (ad hoc client visits may be required depending on client)
To qualify for the role you must have
Strong tax accounting experience (e.g. preparation and audit of provisions)
Accountancy background (professional qualification desirable however strong history of tax accountancy experience suitable also)
Experience of working in a team and developing junior staff
Experience working with large, complex clients
Strong history of tax accounting delivery
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience of working with shared service centers desirable but not essential
Experience of finance transformation desirable but not essential
Experience of OneSource Tax Provision desirable but not essential
Experience of revisiting US GAAP & IFRS quarterly accounting packs
