Resource Manager – TAS – OTS – 6 MONTH FTC - London

In this pivotal role, you will be part of the UK&I Resource Management Team which is recognised as an integral enabler to the growth of business. This role will probably move onto a permanent basis after the 6 months period subject to individual and business performance.

The opportunity

Management of resourcing activity within the Operational Transaction Services team (OTS) which sits within the TAS practice. Working to achieve business goals whilst balancing client requirements, individual career aspirations and utilisation targets.

Your key responsibilities

  • Proactive liaison with Service Line (SL) partners, directors and managers to understand client requirements and the wider needs of the business, to facilitate effective resourcing decisions

  • In conjunction with the Head of Resourcing and service line leader, assess and plan future resource requirements based on projected workflows wider needs of the business

  • Deal with escalated resourcing issues and make decisions on conflicting demands, liaising with other members of the Resourcing team as required. Work to understand skill sets and move individuals from the bench to other parts of the business as appropriate to maximise utilisation.

  • Proactive management of Retain Enterprise to ensure it is kept up to date and accurate at all times. Understand project pipeline and reflect accurately on Retain for forecasting purposes.

  • Attend regular resourcing meetings with representatives from the business

  • Acquire knowledge of individual skills, development needs, experiences and personal/professional aspirations and apply this knowledge in resourcing decisions

  • Attend and provide management support to the Resource management meetings

  • Monitor chargeable hours figures by individual / grade / office / cluster and highlight potential shortfalls / over-utilisation to senior management

  • Oversee analysis of business forecasting eg chargeable hours, utilisation and headcount against budget and driving actions and behaviours accordingly

  • Provide commentary on projected pipeline, utilisation, non-chargeable activities and availability levels

  • Support the performance and counselling process within the business, including management of high and low performers

  • Ensuring the appropriate utilisation and performance drivers are fed into the business’ performance management process

  • Oversee management of timesheet policy enforcement within the business

  • Oversee all approvals and leave authorisations including holidays, special leave, unpaid leave

  • Involvement with SL Leaders around strategic business goals and other business specific matters

  • Delegate and coach members of the Resourcing team and provide guidance and support as required on day to day activities

  • Confident and resilient to deal with challenges from people within the business

  • Good interpersonal skills and able to consult with a wide range of people at different levels

  • Proactive communicator and willing to share information

  • Exercises good judgement, knows when to flag issues and when to deal with independently

  • Ideally has experience of working in a professional services environment

  • Proven experience within management roles within an operational, HR or resourcing/recruitment background
