The opportunity

In Reward, we advise leading companies on their total reward strategy, ensuring the alignment of all elements of reward with their business strategy. By focusing directly on our client’s business issues, we provide financially driven solutions for their reward programmes, from reward strategy to advising on each element of the package that is both pragmatic and implementable. As a result of working with us, our clients will have increased comfort and peace of mind that their reward strategy is fully aligned to their business strategy.

The team help organisations design reward programs for employees and executives that will help meet their corporate objectives. These would include overall remuneration strategy; pay benchmarking; incentive design; job levelling, shareholder consultations, pay disclosures and communications.

Due to the team’s growth plans we are seeking a Director to join the team.

Your key responsibilities

  • To successfully sell, design and deliver executive compensation and reward solutions in a broad range of industry sectors

  • Contribute to business development and client pursuit efforts by preparing proposals and delivering presentations to potential clients

  • Growing a business - actively contribute to the ongoing development of the Strategic Reward Advisory practice and assume operational responsibility and accountability for assignments and delivery teams. Supports client relationships, business development and account management leadership

  • Delivery - responsible for developing, shaping and delivering executive compensation and reward programmes of work, with our industry account teams and other practice areas

  • Communications - responsible for representing the Reward practice in relevant management forums and supporting the rapid, profitable growth of the business as a member of the management team

  • Generating profitable revenue - developing lasting relationships with clients, through business development and account management leadership

  • Structures and manages projects or programs of work which meet client expectations and mitigate any risks or issues

  • Within client assignments, analyses complex problems and is able to deliver insightful and practical solutions

  • Is up to date with key technical and functional skills, extending industry, business and leadership skills & knowledge and shares this expertise with others

  • Has clear pathway and potential business case to progress to Partner or Executive Director

People responsibilities

  • Building & leading teams - accountability for establishing cohesive and committed ways for teams to work closely and effectively together

  • Facilitates and encourages collaboration amongst team members, and is capable of motivating teams to maximising performance

  • Recruitment - responsible for recruiting high calibre individuals into the practice

  • Is able to provide development opportunities for individuals at all levels in the practice (including career coaching)

  • Seeks to give team members stretching opportunities while providing support and ensuring quality and operational excellence

  • Encourages development of team members though formal and informal coaching

  • Gives authentic and constructive feedback

  • Demonstrates competitiveness, resilience and self-belief in the face of challenge, ambiguity and complexity

Skills and attributes for success

  • Have strong personal impact and resilience, and be able to influence and persuade clients and stakeholders at all levels including board level to gain support for major changes and key decisions

  • Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work

  • Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Change orientated with flexible approach

  • Be professional, quickly establishing personal credibility and demonstrating expertise

  • Take a practical approach to solving issues and gaining client agreement

  • Be able to analyse complex problems and to deliver insightful, practical and sustainable solutions

  • Be skilled in facilitating and encouraging collaboration amongst team members, and is capable of motivating teams to maximise performance

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Highly experienced, high calibre executive compensation or all-employee reward practitioner who has strong consulting experience

  • Proven track record of delivery specifically in Executive Compensation, Reward Strategy or Below Board Reward
