As a Firm we are on a journey to double the size of our business by 2020. Growing our advisory business is critical to achieving this and consequently we are placing significant investment in growing this part of our Firm

This investment has led to significant growth in our UK Insurance business in recent years and we see significant market opportunities that will enable us to grow further, a key enabler for which is building our team

Much of this is driven by business transformation work but we are also looking to maintain a presence in smaller strategic, advisory work

We are in the middle of major, truly transformational work at several UK, European and Global clients, and our pipeline is equally strong

The Role

Typically you would be working as part of an engagement team whose remit is to effect business transformation

Responsibilities

In your role as a Technical Lead you will have responsibility for:

Work as a lead to contribute in various streams of package / Guidewire implementation projects

Facilitate the definition of project scope of the deliverables

Provide estimation (effort) for project deliverables using different estimation techniques

Define resource requirements and resource allocation

Planning and monitoring of the project deliverables using appropriate project management tools (JIRA / RALLY)

Provide technical solutions / technical support to the team

Constantly report the project progress and health of the project using EY internal tool to all stake holders

Escalating risk and issues to senior management when necessary

Implement and enforce all processes for development as per standards defined in the organization

Collaborate with team members, mentor the project team to plan, develop and implement project activities to achieve project and client goals

Management of relationship with the client, key stakeholders, subject matter experts

Manage the performance management for the direct reportees, as per the organization policies,

Participating in the organization-wide people initiatives

Qualifications:

Role Requirements

To be successful in these roles, you will be required to demonstrate the following:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field

Experience in products like Guidewire/DuckCreek/Fadata etc

Real time knowledge and experience on enterprise system integration, Insurance domain background, preferably in Property, Motor & Casualty

Proven experience in project management, risk management skills

Excellent in verbal and written business communication, client facing and leadership roles

Having Project management certification from reputed institute (such as PMP or PRINCE2) is a plus

Experience in Java, JEE, XML, Web Services (Axis 2), SQL, ANT

Strong experience in relational databases (Oracle / SQL Server), PL/SQL, Spring, Hibernate, Castor, any Enterprise Messaging System

Should have strong knowledge and experience on Tomcat or Websphere/Weblogic

Strong Experience in project management reporting tools like JIRA /RALLY

Experience in agile / scrum methodology

Should have strong understanding and experience of software development best practices

Should have experience of at least 1 full project lifecycle from Initiation to production

Should act as a mentor to his team

Should have strong of solution architecture

Willing to travel to the customers locations
