The group is responsible for working with our clients and EY colleagues to maintain and improve EY’s brand, develop new and innovative ways of addressing and connecting with client issues as well as identifying and coaching new revenue opportunities.

The Markets group comprises our Brand, Marketing and Communication (BMC) team as well as our Business Development (BD) team. In addition our Market Operations group provides the sales operations expertise to support the business with key insights, providing drive on growth initiatives and delivering relevant management information that enables our business to make information decisions.

Our team is successful due to its diverse experiences that each member brings – some having been at EY for some time, others having joined as experienced hires over the last 2 years.

The opportunity

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Sales Operations Manager, who will be aligned to our Tax practice. Our Sales Operations Managers are part of the Markets Operations Group, reporting to the Markets Operations Director, and are then aligned to areas of our business. Leveraging best practice, the individual will be working with the senior leadership of our Tax practice, helping drive our sales and pipeline reporting, providing timely analysis and helping shape the pre-sales governance of our Tax Service Line.

Your key responsibilities

On a day to day basis, you will work closely with the Tax Markets team - Markets Business Development Director, Markets SL Enablement Management & the Tax Strategy and Planning Executive Director. Your core responsibilities will be:

  • Own the reporting for pre-sales / sales & pipeline in support of the aligned areas

  • Manage the relationship with the offshore team who provide the reporting production, under your leadership

  • Lead on our deal governance process – deal reviews, managing meetings and processes

  • Provide insights and commentary on our progress against key areas of focus, campaign progress, client satisfaction programme

  • Lead on the annual Markets revenue planning processes

  • Undertake ad-hoc projects in support of key reporting and growth initiatives

  • Be an active member of the Markets Operations group in support of best practice and teaming

Skills and attributes for success

  • Have a good understanding of business governance models (business reviews, what’s important, relevant reporting)

  • Highly analytical, with an ability to also scope requirements and interpret complex data

  • Ability to clearly present findings, insights and recommendations succinctly and precisely

  • Expert Excel skills and ability to manipulate data

  • Good understanding of financial metrics – opportunities, sales, revenue

Expert understanding of sales cycles and CRM systems (no specific system knowledge required)Ability to network with and influence senior stakeholders

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Worked in a matrix, global organisation previously

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others

  • C. 3 years experience in a similar or comparable role

  • An enquiring mind – seeking to solve problems, find answers, influence and engage others!
