The EY cyber security team is looking for a Business Continuity Management (BCM) Assistant Manager to join the Resilience team.

As a BCM Assistant Manager, you'll contribute technical insights to client engagements and internal projects. An important part of your role will be to actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. You'll also identify potential business opportunities for EY within existing engagements and the market. The more senior the role the higher the expectation around winning market opportunities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Part of a team of BCM risk management professionals who work with senior management in all lines of business to coordinate business continuity governance activities, both internal and external to EY

  • Continuity planning and event management, development and facilitation of enterprise-wide event exercises, relationship management with external vendors, development of corporate policy, standards, and guidelines

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide business continuity management programme including: development of tools and instructional guides

  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining programme processes and practices which effectively ensure that the enterprise programme remains current, and incorporates/aligns with industry standards and practices as appropriate, and adequately covers general regulatory requirements

  • In a relationship management capacity, provide guidance and direction to an assigned clientele to ensure their business continuity management processes are delievered in accordance with quality standards

  • Participate in external business continuity management organizations and keep abreast of industry best practices and trends

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must have an in-depth understanding of business continuity management and governance frameworks, including emergency response and crisis management, strong knowledge of business continuity best practices and protocols, operational risk management, and IT practices. Specific expertise should include:

  • Business Continuity Management practices and protocols, including in-depth knowledge of international BCM standards promoted by BCI, ISO, etc.

  • A strong understanding of Operational risk and resilience, Business Process improvement methods as well as risk related control frameworks and practices

  • Knowledge of IT and Operations Audit methodology

  • Understanding of the Operational Risk Management methodology

  • Assist client in managing their Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery programmes

  • Assist clients in designing and implementing their identified management solutions

  • Account management framework methodologies.

The incumbent should also possess the following skills and experience:

  • 5 to 7 years breadth of exposure in Business Continuity Management industry

  • Reasonable depth of exposure/understanding of Business Continuity Management processes and best practices

  • Experience in all key Business Continuity Management disciplines

  • Experience in disaster recovery

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Exceptional ability to remain calm under stress

  • Excellent team skills, both as a leader and as a team player

  • Strong project management skills and interpersonal skills

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills, especially related to facilitation, documentation and reporting

  • Highly developed relationship management, influencing and leadership skills

  • Ability to be on-call and to occasionally work beyond normal business hours when required, in order to meet urgent client or EY requirements

  • Be willing to travel as required

  • Excellent client service delivery and ability to manage multiple engagement teams and projects

  • Experience in coaching and supervising junior team members

  • Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment

  • Have a drive to build a team and grow your Business Continuity Management career

You may also have a Bachelor's and/or post graduate degree in Commerce, Risk Management, and/or Sustainability.

The successful candidate must hold or be willing to pursue related professional certifications such as: BCI, PMI, CCSA, CISA, CA, CCSP, ISC, ITIL, etc.

Sector specific experience in key sectors such as financial services, oil and gas, mining, retail, telecoms and technology would be considered advantageous.
