Job Function

  • Provide input in drafting and review of key governance documents in line with applicable legislation.

  • Research and implement governance requirements in foreign jurisdictions.

  • Interpret Companies Act and related legislation for compliance purposes.

  • Type legal documentation and other correspondence.

  • Prepare and maintain Africa EXCO and SA EXCO committee flies and compliance files for Africa.

  • Arrange logistics and information packs for the committees meetings, including scheduling and agendas.

  • Take minutes of meetings of EXCO, draft resolutions.

  • Maintain the registration of all company directors and shareholders at CIPC

  • Keep the legal and compliance library up to date.

  • Manage data privacy compliance within Africa, with specific focus on POPI in SA.

  • Communicate, train and facilitate implementation of group compliance initiatives. Developing internal compliance programs based on the findings from analysis of the current situations and to provide training to the employees. Consult and advise business departments regarding compliance related actions. Finding, analyzing and making proposals to mitigate compliance related risks and reporting on these.

  • Manage the Legal/ Company Secretarial sharepoint site.

Qualifications:

Qualification:

  • Grade 12

  • Legal Qualification with a Compliance Management Diploma

  • 5 years of experience in company secretarial and compliance a must

  • Working knowledge of FICA
