EY Manager - Transaction Tax Africa in GT, South Africa
Title: Manager - Transaction Tax Africa
Job Number: JOH001JG
TT Africa works with clients of all sizes in all industries, working closely with the incredibly strong network of local tax specialists in sub-Saharan Africa and other Transaction Tax teams around the world. In this dynamic and fast-moving environment, individuals apply their skills to a variety of transactions. With a truly entrepreneurial spirit there is flexibility to shape your career in particular areas of the M&A tax landscape or to get experience across the spectrum.
The Core TT Africa hub based in Johannesburg deals with some of sub-Saharan Africa’s largest corporate and private equity clients as well as specifically focussing on the areas of the M&A market that are developing the quickest. Our practice is comprised of a dedicated team focused on the tax aspects of corporate and private equity acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings and capital market transactions in a pan-African context with particular emphasis on M&A transactions in the South African market. As a Manager in our team, we’ll look to you to apply your knowledge to a wide range of tax areas, devising strategic outcomes to complex issues, including domestic South African and cross-border tax strategies. In return, you can expect support from recognized and engaging tax minds in the profession, and tremendous opportunities to progress your career.
You will get wide-ranging experience in all the core areas of transactional work in a sub-Saharan Africa setting – including corporate deals, private equity, infrastructure and clean-tech, distressed debt and turnaround transactions and restructuring. As deal advisers, TT team members not only get deep South African tax technical experience but also a commercial understanding of what is important to our clients in a deal context. As a large part of TT work is cross-border, you will be exposed to international structuring techniques and the tax regimes of key investment destinations on the continent.
