The Senior Manager is responsible for managing a large portfolio of clients, the role includes the operational aspects of engagement management such as engagement finances, resource management, and elements of risk management.
Professionals will play a key role in the development of their team and manage, coach and act as a mentor for their team-members. They will build strong relationships with on-shore colleagues and clients, identifying areas where GDS can improve quality and increase the scope of work.
Your client responsibilities:
Lead a team of Managers, Assistant Managers, Seniors and Associates and make sure the team delivers high quality work on time and within budget
Develop and maintain productive relationships with key EY Global contacts, i.e., Global assurance managers, senior managers and partners to grow GDS business through:
Establishing expectations of value to be delivered to the Global audit teams and ultimately to the Global audit clients
Building industry specific knowledge and capabilities within your team
Work closely with Global teams to transition new engagements and services to GDS Assurance whilst maintaining high quality of service
Develop an understanding of EY Quality and Risk Management procedures, and ensure these are embedded into the engagement team's work.
Proactively discuss audit procedures with the audit teams in Global, allocating resources to audit work and monitoring performance against standards
For select engagements/projects, perform manager level reviews of workpapers prepared by GDS teams
Monitor and manage key performance metrics for your team – utilization, feedback, resourcing, attrition, etc
Understand scope of GDS offerings across service lines to develop an account centric approach for clients
Demonstrate professionalism, competence and clarity of communication when dealing with GDS and Global teams.
Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize audit processes across a portfolio of clients
Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Contribute to technical and soft-skills training to continually develop the team's skills.
Your People responsibilities:
Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team.
Conduct timely performance reviews and provide performance feedback/training. Lead by example.
Provide coaching and mentoring to managers to effective manage their responsibilities
Technical skills requirements:
Knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP/US GAAP and International standards is an advantage
Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation Skills
Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling and supervisory skills
Excellent communication skills including speaking and writing effectively in English
Ability to spread positive work culture and live EY values
The ability to quickly form strong working relationship with colleagues in India and around the world.
Additional skills requirements:
- We currently are seeking qualified chartered accountants or CPAs with over 7 years of post-qualification experience.
