Job Summary

The incumbent supports and helps drive IT Service’s commitment to test and validate the disaster recovery plans for the EY’s most critical business process applications, IT infrastructure services and hosting facilities through the scheduling and oversight of the execution of disaster recovery exercises.

In addition the incumbent represent Operations’ interests in solution engineering projects to ensure that the agreed upon disaster recovery infrastructure and procedures can be followed by Operations and are in line with prevailing techniques and can seamlessly be adopted upon transition into Operations. Prior to said transition incumbent will also draft recovery exercise plan & oversee the execution of the plan, ensuring RTO (Recovery Time Objective) & RPO (Recovery Point Objective) are met, prior to transition.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory contact on a weekly basis plus as and when required

  • Expectation is that this individual will also supervise outside of line management responsibilities within the context of a disaster recovery exercise team. May also have direct line management subordinates

Job Requirements:

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong resource management skills in a matrix organization

  • Disaster recovery plan design and execution experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong core Office suite skills, particularly Visio & Project

  • A demonstrable methodical and detailed approach

  • Good EY business and IT Service organizational awareness

  • Given Disaster Recovery exercising schedules and crisis support activities there may be some weekend and out of hours working required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • 5 -10 years of relevant experience

Certification Requirements:

  • Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) or Associate Disaster Recovery Planner accreditation but not required
