Job Summary:

Within FSO, our Digital Operate and Industrialize (DOI) competency works collaboratively with our clients to conduct complex, strategic analyses of clients' IT organizations, operating models, processes, applications and infrastructure. The scope of service spans the full life cycle of enterprise service management, sourcing, software development life cycle, and systems development life cycle with focus on cost, value, performance, transparency, and risk related to the delivery of IT services. We also have a unique ability to help our clients translate strategy into actionable technical design, and transformation planning/mobilization. Through our unique combination of competencies and solutions, EY’s FSO DOI team helps our clients sustain competitive advantage and profitability by developing strategies to stay ahead of the rapid pace of change and disruption and supporting the execution of complex transformations.

The Infrastructure Manager will help our clients assess and improve how information technology (IT Infrastructure in particular) enables the business in an effective and efficient manner. Our Infrastructure group works collaboratively with our clients to establish a business-driven vision for the future of our clients’ Information Technology systems, processes and infrastructure, and a road map to achieve that vision through the application of leading practices and the improvement of operational capability. We help them develop a structured view of the functional interactions between the application and infrastructure components and an architecture and roadmap of the future state. These architectures guide design decision making and facilitate the long-term achievement of the strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities:

We currently are seeking a highly motivated Manager to deliver professional services support business development activities on strategic and global priority accounts, and contribute to DOI practice development activities. This professional will be responsible for leading workstreams and supporting client engagements by delivering high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget. Managers are expected to monitor progress, manage risk and ensure that key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Managers should manage expectations of client service delivery, maintain and develop their technical skills sets, stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business and foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment by actively counseling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization. They are expected to understand EY and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients, develop and maintain long-term relationships with the client and the team members across all EY practices.

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management or a related field

  • A minimum of 5 years of post-bachelor's work experience (or 4 years for Master’s degree); 3 years must be relevant work experience at a financial services company or comparable experience working as a consultant in a professional services firm delivering advisory services on IT infrastructure

  • Experience with successfully managing projects with defined deliverables and budgets. Experience must include budgeting and managing the schedule; client relationship management; communicating strategically around key issues; conflict resolution and consensus building

  • Must have a thorough understanding of complex information systems and technology organizations

  • Experience in communicating technical study conclusions through written reports and presentations, using tools such as PowerPoint/Excel/Word/Visio

  • Proven delivery skills including the ability to scope/size a project; staff a team with the appropriate skill set; provide subject matter direction and guidance to a team; manage communications with the project sponsors, and manage the delivery of an engagement workstream

  • Broad knowledge of the IT function and how IT enables the business through effective strategic planning, governance and management discipline

  • Knowledge of key IT management processes and industry frameworks (CMMI, COBIT, ITIL, Six Sigma, ISO 2700x, TOGAF, project management life cycles, systems development life cycles, PMBOK, Prince2, data center operations, etc.)

  • Experience working within a cloud environment such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, IBM Cloud or Rackspace

  • Experience working with Virtualization technologies like VMware, Citrix Xen Server,

  • Microsoft Hyper-V

The candidate must have experience in at least 1 of the following Technical Competencies:

  • End user computing: Endpoint Management, MDM, VDI, IP telephony

  • Compute: Cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS), Wintel, Mainframe, Unix, Grid, Virtualization

  • Storage: SAN, DAS, Block

  • Network: Software-defined networking, WAN, LAN, WLAN

  • Data center: Consolidation, Converged infrastructure

  • Software-defined infrastructure

  • IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, governance/operating model, engineering

  • Data center operations management

The candidate must have the ability to travel in accordance with client and other job requirements. This travel can be as much as 80% to 100% of a work week. Travel may be international.
