Our PAS group is growing fast and sales compensation consulting is one area targeted for growth. Sales compensation represents the intersection of business strategy, motivation theory, and culture. Your key responsibilities
Advise clients on compensation programs for sales, sales management, and sales support roles. This involves assessment and modification of existing plans or design of new plans. For some projects, assessing market competitiveness and/or modeling the impact of plan changes will be important elements. Each client is different (in terms of sales strategy, competitive environment, pay philosophy, culture, etc.), so no two projects are the same. As a sales compensation consultant, you’re likely to spend your time working a diverse array of clients, industries, and business issues, and performing a diverse set of responsibilities and tasks. You’ll be working in a highly collaborative culture, where listening to and sharing information with colleagues is an essential part of the role.
Skills and attributes for success
Interface with clients to understand needs, manage expectations and deliver work
Help solve client-specific sales compensation issues, identifying opportunities and risks while building long-lasting relationships with our clients
Research current market trends to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisor
Develop clear, intelligent sales compensation plans and approaches to improve our clients’ business results
Research our client’s business operations and tailor your advice to their specific needs
Support business development activity by participating in pursuit calls and proposal development
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelor’s in Business or HR and around six to ten years of related experience
Understanding of sales compensation, and experience managing budgets and projects
Proposal writing and research experience in a consulting context
The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects, and strong data analytics skills.
Strong influencing skills, confidence to question existing processes, and ability to communicate effectively
Ability to manage a small team and/or mentor junior team members
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Strong Sales compensation experience
