As we continue to expand our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (“FAAS”) Team we are looking to recruit high calibre individuals who can use their professional experience and skills to assist leaders facing challenging finance, controllership and governance issues, address strategic accounting challenges and capitalise on growth opportunities. You will join a team of globally integrated subject matter experts that help clients achieve their potential in acquisitions, divestitures and accounting / organisational change, through transforming operational functions into true business partners.

The opportunity:

Your position will necessitate you working collaboratively with our clients to enhance their ability to use and interpret data, to develop their own enhanced information management capability to support better decision making and to minimize value leakage across their organisations.

We are seeking an experienced Analytics Delivery Manager who will be responsible for the successful delivery of analytics engagements, assisting with creating a larger FAAS analytics team and providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders. Your position will be initially focused on the creation of analytics based IP which may be delivered to clients or delivered to EY professionals for their consumption in performing their engagements. You will be working as part of a multi-skilled team of finance function professionals specialising in financial accounting, compliance processes, controls, reporting solutions and other related projects.

You can expect plenty of autonomy in this role as you set about designing, building and implementing technology related tools and technology that enriches FAAS solutions and client interactions. You’ll need the ability to take initiative, seek out opportunities and the drive to improve our current relationships and processes.


Your key responsibilities:

Everything you’ll do will come back to providing exceptional analytics support. You will work with ASX top 100 clients, not-for-profits and the Australian subsidiaries of the some of the world’s largest companies, work with the latest data systems and use your advanced data manipulation skills to assist our FAAS team deliver exceptional client service.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • A proven track record of being able to build end user computing technology solutions coupled with business consulting skills with a “needs based” client centric attitude.

  • A preference for exposure to, and appreciation of, the complexities involved with working in finance. An understanding of basic financial accounting would be an advantage (but not essential).

  • Demonstrated characteristics of a forward thinker and self-motivator who thrives on new challenges and adapts to new learnings.

  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt and learn analytic methodologies expeditiously.

  • A strong work ethic with the ability to grow and flex, as industry trends and EY business dictates.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or post-graduate award in relevant discipline and 5-10 years of related work experience.

  • ITIL Foundation.

  • Proficiency in using a combination of the following tools to address a business problem: ACL, CPLEX, Tableau, Spotfire, Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SPSS, SAS, and R.

  • A working knowledge of:

  • Data Management;

  • Database development and data structures;

  • Data visualization and analytics; and

  • Program and change management.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience working with ETL processes and objectives.

  • Experience within the analytics domain gathering business and technical requirements, solution design and build, testing and solution deployment.

  • External client delivery and solution knowledge spanning data management, data warehousing and reporting/analytics domains.

  • A working knowledge of the following business processes:

  • Finance function core processes;

  • Record to report, including financial close and consolidations;

  • Procure to pay and order to cash;

  • Treasury;

  • Fixed asset accounting;

  • Financial Planning and Analysis;

  • General ledger.

  • Big 4 or Professional Services experience preferred (but not essential).
