EY’s People Advisory Services – Reward practice helps clients develop relevant and flexible tax-compliant remuneration, benefit, and incentive approaches. Our multi-disciplinary integrated team of actuaries, human resource, compensation and tax professionals provide specialized services in the areas of pension, benefits, HR, tax and compensation.

We are currently in search of an experienced results-driven Senior Tax Staff or Tax Manager in the compensation area to join our team in Montréal. The successful candidate will provide tax advice related to the review, design and implementation of incentive compensation plans or retirement plan. The candidate will also support other services lines for tax compensation related issues (payroll, audit defense, etc.).

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the growth and maintenance of ongoing client relationships and participate in business development and marketing activities.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and participate in business development efforts for current and prospective clients

  • Play a key role in executing compliance and advisory mandates

  • Contribute in growing EY thought leadership by sharing technical expertise and best practices and by developing effective methodologies

  • Coach, develop and manage junior team members

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • A bachelor's degree with a professional designation (LL.B. or CPA)

  • Over 3 or 4 years of tax experience related to compensation consulting with an emphasis on assessing the tax implications of compensation and benefits

  • Understanding of cross-border and international issues relating to compensation (US tax experience would be an asset but is not a requirement)

  • Strong tax research and analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written English and French communication skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Sound business judgment

  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team oriented environment
