Join our Core Business Services (CBS) team and you will help support the important business enablement functions that keep our organisation running strong. As a CBS professional, you will work across teams to provide the knowledge, resources and tools that help EY deliver exceptional quality service to our clients, win in the marketplace and support EY’s growth and profitability. Major teams within CBS include Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Enterprise Support Services, Brand Marketing and Communications, Business Development, Knowledge and Risk Management.
Join our Risk Management team and help protect EY from risks that arise from its professional practice. Risk Management teams provide coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, regulatory and risk management issues, as well as dealing with claims, and any queries regarding the organisation’s ethics. You’ll help us meet our compliance responsibilities while supporting our client-facing teams as they deliver quality service to their clients.

About the opportunity
In your role as Assistant Director in our Independence team you’ll:
Provide advice on auditor independence policies for businessrelationships to service line personnel
Analyse the facts and circumstances of business relationships withthird parties to apply the auditor independence policies
Managing the performance of the business relationship process,including reporting and follow up of any identified non-compliance.
Review independence processes to recommend process improvements,whilst ensuring compliance with EY Global and local requirements
Knowledge transfer to junior staff through on the job training
Respond to ad hoc requests
We’re looking for people with the following experience:
Relevant qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant, CPA),or equivalent experience
3 years independence or compliance experience
Problem solving capabilities
Great people skills
Ability to develop action plans and work with minimalsupervision
Managing multiple projects and ability to multi-task
Meticulous, thorough and systematic
Ability to work in a pressurised customer focusedenvironment
Managing conflicting demands
Customer service mindset and experience in dealing withdifficult situations
Great organisation / project management skills
Ability to work within a team, understanding the rolesand focus of the wider team
Deadline and results focus with good reporting skills,both verbal and written
Sound analytical capability, comfortable withspreadsheets, data manipulation andanalysis
An inquiring mind and strong research skills
A team player, happy tohelp other team members as required
