This role supports the development and execution of all financial planning, analysis and decision support activities for a subset of the Global Information Technology (IT) function within EY. This role will be primarily focused around providing global support for of one of the following groups within Global Infrastructure Svcs (GIS): Hosting Services, End User Technology Services, IT Operations or Investment Portfolio Support.

This role will be a generalist across all groups within GIS supporting the Finance lead for GIS. The position will have involvement in: facilitating the management of IT spend, monitoring the running costs of all IT projects, and planning, forecasting and budgeting for those costs. The position will include interaction with the IT leadership, EY Global Services leadership and Global and Regional Finance leadership.

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Drive the strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues impacting IT, focusing specifically on new policy areas where IT Services is an early adopter

  • Supports the short-term and long-term tactical and strategic goals of Global Finance and IT Services in order to support the current and future needs of stakeholders

  • Works with Area and Sub-Area Finance leaders to bring increased transparency and understanding around IT costs including the Shared, Direct and Separately Funded components

  • Supports ongoing change in key initiatives that involve process or procedural change for Global Finance and/or IT

  • Serves as a key contributor on the IT Services teams and the EYGS Finance team

  • Will participate in Global Finance work stream initiatives e.g. SAP implementation

  • Fosters an environment that promotes the sharing of knowledge and leading practices, and builds on learning to serve the organization

  • Promotes effective teaming and strong utilization of Shared Services resources

  • Supports the short-term and long-term goals of the control environment – to facilitate improved specific review of costs prior to commitment by EYGS

Analytical /Decision Making Responsibilities

  • Helps manage the execution of all planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and decision support activities for the IT Services areas outlined above

  • Help identify operational and financial variances. Works with analysts to develop and understand variance analyses and recommends mitigating action plans. Executes against those action plans

  • Teams with Global and Area Finance leadership to drive financial operational excellence for IT costs   

Knowledge and Skills Requirement

  • Good understanding of IT Finance – demonstrating experience in the field of technology finance

  • Strong change management skills.

  • Strong listening, consultative, influencing and communication skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience operating within an IT Service Catalog environment

  • Extensive experience with Excel especially database functionality

  • Good presentation skills

  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills, and an ability to work well under deadlines, with attention to detail

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills (partnering with internal clients)

  • English language skills – excellent written and oral communication

  • Ability to work within a global (virtual) team     


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance


  • Experience in working within a globally deployed accounting organization

  • Experience in finance processes and policies, including experience in IT Finance role
