What will I be doing?

EY’s business development team is responsible for driving the firm’s growth by managing client relationships to drive business‐winning opportunities. Driving innovation to ensure provision of market leading, relevant and highly-targeted solutions to clients. Devising and executing relevant account strategies. Engaging with teams to support them on their most important strategic pursuits and making a sustained contribution to the continued enhancement of the EY Business Development function.

As the Business Development Assistant Manager (BDAM), you’ll be working closely with the various department leads helping them identify, qualify, and prioritize sales leads; develop sales strategies and plans; coordinate tenders and track opportunities. The BDAM will be required to liaise with teams on RFP’s, document production, project team coordination and ensure the our tender portal is efficiently run and monitored.

Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

Account Management & Bid Management

  • Develop and maintain account plans and review these regularly against established targets

  • Act as a central point of knowledge for all information related to the accounts they support Work closely with internal industry centres to develop speciality knowledge

  • Be involved in the marketing strategy of client-specific innovative solutions.

  • Identify, coordinate and participate in client relationship building activities and meetings where appropriate.

  • Provide bid content support to the business, monitoring wins, losses as well as standardising format of credentials, CV’s and keeping a central repository for rate cards and sharing these with the team.

  • Be involved in the client feedback/review process which will consist of managing the data collated and taking part in review meetings.


Business reporting

  • Support our client facing professionals in their market approach by preparing client/ sector research and analysis.

  • Understand and identify relevant "hot topics" and translate these into new business opportunities.

  • Provide in depth views and analysis on sales strategies, trends and relevant statistics etc.

  • Create close working relationships with respective professionals and sector specialists in order to coordinate the use and dissemination of business analysis, press releases, financial information, competitive intelligence and relevant firm thought leadership.

  • Provide data cleansing of Interaction opportunities and alongside the business Managers to ensure fields are kept accurate across all Markets.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of principles and practices of sales and pipeline management.

Requirements for prospective candidates include:

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience

  • You must be proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and have experience of managing client relationship databases/tools

  • You demonstrate excellent writing, communication, active listening and presentation skills

  • You have good stakeholder management skills and experience with working directly with senior stakeholders

  • Professional Services experience preferable but not essential

  • Experience with bid management preferable but not essential

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and facilitation skills

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously through effective prioritisation, organisation, flexibility and self-discipline. Must have demonstrated project management experience
