You’ll be responsible for participating in and supervising US-related client engagements, including preparation and review of the audit documentation. You’ll develop the audit approach and prepare detailed audit programs for walkthroughs, tests of controls and substantive procedures. On a daily basis you execute audit procedures, such as understanding and evaluating significant sources of information, performing walkthroughs, testing controls, and executing substantive procedures in moderately complex, judgmental and/or specialized areas.
Your key responsibilities
Everything you’ll do will come back to providing exceptional audit activities for our clients. Colleagues and clients from a diverse array of backgrounds will look to you first for answers. For example to discuss moderately complex issues with engagement team and client management, in the areas of IFRS / US GAAP accounting, PCAOB auditing, and US-related financial reporting. Next to this you are also the person who will lead the teams and explain to junior team members the objectives of an audit, planned procedures, and the review process.
Additionally, colleagues and clients from a diverse array of backgrounds will look to you first for answers. For example, you will be the first contact point on complex issues in the areas of IFRS / US GAAP accounting, PCAOB auditing standards, and US-related financial reporting.
Skills and attributes for success
Prepare memoranda, e-mails and other correspondence (e.g., audit plan, meeting agendas, SOCD, and other correspondence with the client).
Participate in meetings with the client. Present information to others in one-on-one and small group situations, such as verbal presentations to client personnel.
Interact with client personnel in a professional manner and demonstrate a commitment to continually improve our client’s satisfaction
Provide guidance to assist junior team members in reaching their full potential.
To qualify for the role you must have
An active CPA, CA, or equivalent license
More than 4 years of experience working as an auditor for one of the Big 4 firms, with experience working in the US on PCAOB audits
Experience leading the planning, execution and reporting of audits.
Experience reviewing reporting packages or financial statements and footnote disclosures in conformity with US GAAP and/or IFRS.
Proficiency in PCAOB auditing requirements
Experience with US-related financial reporting requirements
English - advanced level (business English)
Ideally, you’ll also have
Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Visited the Netherlands in the past or know more about the Dutch culture
