Senior Manager in Business Modeling – Data Analytics
We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior Manager specializing in Data Analytics to join our talented and team-oriented Business Modeling group. The Ernst & Young Transaction Advisory Services - Valuation & Business Modeling practice supports and enhances our clients’ financial decision-making processes. We work with corporate and private equity clients on complex decisions, often involving multiple stakeholders and high degrees of uncertainty, where such decisions require issue assessment/definition, solution design and rigorous financial analysis, robust modeling and advanced data analytics. We work in all industries and operate across a broad range of disciplines including:
Decision support/decision analysis
Transaction evaluation and management
Benefits estimation, management and realization
Business case development
Budgeting and forecasting and management planning
Simulation and optimization
Model risk assessment and remediation
Manage and supervise a team of analytics professionals through all phases of the engagement lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, development, testing and post-delivery support. Demonstrate high levels of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilate new knowledge.
Demonstrate quality project execution and delivery by successfully monitoring project/program team economics, performance against the job arrangement and budget, and proactively adjust scope, timing, and resources as appropriate and if necessary.
Team with client finance and operational professionals to design and implement solutions. Lead and collaborate to plan engagement objectives and a strategy that addresses client needs. Manage expectations of service delivery; monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. . Identify issues and propose both strategies and technical approaches.
Build internal and external awareness of capabilities and develop relationships with market and service leaders. Manage engagements in a rigorous, time sensitive environment and deliver high-quality solutions through the management of cross functional teams and remote resources.
Maintain and develop positive, productive and professional relationships with clients. Generate new business opportunities by thoroughly understanding EY and its service lines and actively assessing and presenting ways to apply knowledge and services.
Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team. Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/training. Foster an innovative and team-oriented work environment. Commit to developing knowledge, continue to learn and share knowledge with clients and team members.
Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to the client's business, and act as a leader in adopting new tools and techniques use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided.
A bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of (or a master's degree and at least 7 years of) experience in developing predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions associated with acquisitions and divestitures, capital structure optimization, working capital improvements and other types of corporate finance transactions
Degree in statistics, mathematics, related data science or finance / economics with relevant work experience; CPA or CFA strongly preferred.
Business development and client management experience.
Track record in managing project expenditures against budget and revenue, and providing guidance to team members to ensure the completion of work deliverables.
Expert level skills in statistical software packages (SAS, SPSS, R). Experience in visualization applications (Spotfire, Tableau, PowerView) preferred.
Excellent analytical, project management, communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
A proven track record of developing and mentoring junior resources through the career progression.
Experience in venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking, strategy, and/or financial research a plus.
PC proficiency including MS Word, Access, PowerPoint, VBA and MS Excel.
Prior consulting industry experience preferred.
This position also requires 20-40% travel.
