The role will be responsible for the effective delivery of key communications to employees across all lines of business in Germany, Switzerland and Austria (GSA). The role is wide ranging, encompassing the timely co-ordination of employee communication through a range of channels to ensure ease of access, clarity and consistency.

Your tasks - to help you progress

The Specialist Internal Communications is accountable for delivering the following:

  • Establish concepts for projects relating to Internal Communications

  • Excellent execution internally or externally

  • Efficient use of methodologies, tools and expertise relating to Internal communications

  • Advise colleagues on questions relating to internal communications

  • Quality control of execution

  • Effective use of project budgets and resourcesFurthermore, the Specialist Internal Communications is responsible for the following:

  • Develop an understanding and awareness of the communication needs within the organization

  • Help execute a communications strategy that will address the above identified needs

  • Liaise with the core team and key stakeholders to understand changes and potential implications for communications

  • Day to day execution of the organization’s communication campaign to deliver timely and effective communications, mainly in English but at times in German

  • Understand, appreciate and master the range of communication channels to be used

  • Work with an editorial calendar of news and content and build a small network of regular contributors

  • Make use of existing KPIs to assess effectiveness of own instruments; optimize and set-up guidelines for impactful approaches in internal communications

  • Lead project teams through multiple, complex projects which cross borders

  • Address opportunities and actively support GDS leverage

  • Selection and quality check of external partners within the defined guidelines

  • Work together with Business Partners and other specialists (inc. GDS, external) in order to guarantee excellent service and quality to internal clients and to proactively provide exceptional client service

  • Work together with other Specialists in order to guarantee excellent and seamless service delivery cross specialist functions

  • Support methods for driving innovation and change across the organization, address possible efficiencies

  • Manage competing forces and conflicting priorities

  • advise on functional concepts; work collaboratively and effectively with peer functions and stakeholders to deliver on EY and BMC strategic priorities

  • Ensuring and monitoring client/audience satisfaction with the development and implemented instruments

This position is limited to 1 year.

Your profile - to help us progress together

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent area of study or experience)

  • 7+ years communications experience, ideally in professional services firms and/or marketing and communications oriented

  • consulting background

  • Confidence to build and maintain relationships

  • Good technical understanding with the agility to pick up communications and publishing tools quickly

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of Internal Communications, being able to communicate information and ideas

  • effectively in written and verbal format in both English and German

  • High influencing skills (Asserts own ideas and persuades others; gains support and commitment from others; mobilizes people to take action; engages with others effectively to gain buy-in for activities)

  • High communication and relationship management skills (Authentically develops and sustains effective client relationships; manages stakeholder expectations in regards to BMC services; has confidence to present data and themes back to key stakeholders; collaborates with colleagues in peer functions within and outside of BMC; negotiates skilfully with both internal and external groups)

  • Good project management skills and knowledge of BMC methodologies and professional standards (effectively partners with stakeholders to execute against project plans; is adaptable and proactive in addressing project challenges)

  • Works independently and with the team, must rely on influencing skills to get results

  • Proactively drives results
