The Senior Analyst will support EY’s Wealth and Assent Management IKP with annuity, offering-led and ad-hoc global and regional analysis. The Senior Analyst will also contribute to Global and regional thought leadership.
Essential functions of the role:
In this role you will work with other WAM analysts to produce WAM specific thought leadership and insights in line with Integrated Knowledge Plan agreed with stakeholders.
To be integrated with the FS and broader Knowledge team to build an understanding of best practice approaches and delivery of impactful analysis. The analyst should also be proactive in evolving the role of the analyst in line with to desire to be more innovative, efficient and digital.
This analyst will need to build relationships with some stakeholders to support the Analyst team Leader in assessing analysis needs/demand from the sector. This insight will be fed into an overall picture of global stakeholder needs, to update and evolve the analysis plan.
Take responsibility for some of the annuities that the WAM Analyst team is committed to provide and work with the analysts and stakeholders to deliver and distribute in a timely and effective manner.
Be aligned to an offering such that he/she is clear on their 'go-to-market' objectives and can proactively and reactively support with analysis and advise on broader knowledge support.
Engage with audit pursuit teams as required (for high priority pursuits within WAM) to support business development which impacts the sector.
Analytical / Decision-making Responsibilities
The analyst will report to the WAM Analyst Team Leader and will need to build relationships and engage with sector and cross-FS stakeholders.
The analyst will need to solid understanding and experience of the players, drivers and issues within WAM and FS more broadly. Understanding how sector objectives drive the prioritization of focus is key so that a proactive approach can be taken to deliver the most impactful analysis that will support the broader practice across multiple service lines.
The ability to think beyond the status quo and put themselves in the shoes of practitioners and clients will be critical. The ability to think through an issue and develop a storyline and structured analysis to support industry-leading conversations is highly beneficial.
Knowledge and skills requirements:
In this role you
Will be able to work effectively within a globally-located team of analysts and understand how regional and global priorities need to be addressed. This will be done in conjunction with the WAM Analyst Team Leader.
Will seek out relationship building opportunities that will enable better connections with the business so that the team can support more effectively.
Will need deep Wealth & Asset Management expertise so that you can engage with senior stakeholders with little support.
Proactively take responsibility for continuous development of industry knowledge in line with WAM and firm priorities.
You will hold and be able to develop points of view on the market and industry participants.
Will be familiar with and have worked within a professional environment for 10 years or more and will be able to connect and negotiate with senior stakeholders to not only understand their needs but help shape them.
Will be able to effectively project manage several projects simultaneously. These will include sector analysis, thought leadership input, knowledge initiatives (as required) and others (as sector and knowledge priorities surface and evolve).
Ability to priorities deliverables and manageexpectations is critical. This is often done under time pressure and whilst managing the expectations of many stakeholders.
As Senior Analyst you will also
Be able to work with little supervision and direction once settled into the team and role.
Should expect to have regular contact with other WAM analysts and a weekly 1:1 with the WAM Analyst team leader.
Be able to advise and guide more junior analysts within the team to provide industry experience and insight to his/her own and others' analysis.
Are expected to work normal business hours, or be flexible to accommodate colleagues and stakeholders in different time zones.
There may be a small amount of travel required but not much is expected.
