Job Summary:

The Service Pricing experienced Subject Matter Expert reporting into the Global Lead Service Pricing within Service Introduction Management (SIM) in Enterprise Workplace Technology (EWT) will centrally execute Service Pricing for all services to be delivered as part of the EWT function including, but not limited to Compute Services (Database, On Premises / Off Premises Hosting, Analytics, etc.) End User Technology (Desktop, Messaging, Unified Communications, etc.), and Core Business services. This role is responsible for managing parts of to the definition and implementation of a service pricing model. In addition this role drive refreshing the pricing model on a regular basis as well as running the periodically (e.g. monthly, quarterly) repeating activities to support service pricing and market comparison. This includes leverage tooling to calculate, simulate, and forecast, and engage with Finance for chargeback from consumers of the services. This role will work closely with the Service Deployment function, Service Owners, and Finance to ensure services are priced at the top quartile cost performance. Ongoing pricing simulation and assessment against market price will be critical as will socializing the service pricing across EY Technology.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Awareness of market pricing for Services delivered and ensure delivery of services in EWT is within top quartile cost performance

  • Design cost models for services delivered by Compute, End User Technology and Core Business Services like Server, Storage, Database, Desktop, Messaging etc. taking into consideration all cost components

  • Develop the cost models in Excel based tools, support the transformation to a financial management solution, e.g. ITFM in Service Now and maintain in the solution ongoing

  • Lead a virtual group of different stakeholders that includes service owners and finance team to gather data and their input into the service pricing

  • Enable Service owners to capture and provide all inventory details needed for service pricing as input into service costing and automate the data input where possible

  • Perform detailed analysis on monthly chargeback bill and provide insights on consumption, spend vs budget, forecasting trends across chargeback amount, capacity and utilization

  • Assess and analyze vendor or original equipment manufacturer (OEM) quotes with respect to hardware, software and service packs

  • Agree and implement changes to the service cost model in the supporting system, e.g. develop new rates across service lines and simulate the rates and ensure recovery targets are met

  • Define and implement reporting to support the Service Pricing activities and KPIs

  • Perform risk assessment and provide mitigation plan

  • Continuously assess EWT pricing as compared to market and offer insights into gaps

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

The role maintains all aspects of service costing and pricing and guide discussions on expansion and enhancements to current model in place. Manages one customer group for service pricing and runs their costing and pricing activities. Establishes and analyzes reporting inclusive of the establishment of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Critical Success Factors (CSF) to review or validate the effectiveness of service pricing and cost recovery within the Service Pricing Framework. The role is the primary point of contact for questions related to the monthly charges EWT charges and operates at the deep level of knowledge about the units charged and acts as a facilitator to involve services owners in more detailed questions.

  • Very strong proficiency with MS Excel and ideally IT Financial Management Solutions, e.g. ITFM module of Service Now

  • Significant experience in data analysis and reporting

  • Broad technical knowledge of services offered by Compute and End User Technology organizations, e.g., On-Premise IT Infrastructure and cloud technologies - both MS Azure and Amazon AWS, On and Off Premises Messaging, Desktop as a Service, etc.

  • Understand and apply TCO and ROI models to support business case development

  • Experience in business architecture, analysis and planning

  • Bringing expertise into the Service Pricing and Financial Management functions. Is able to develop a vision for improvements, articulate it and influence / manage others to share it

  • Strong expertise in optimizing technology costs through organization of service performance methodologies

  • Significant experience in IAAS\SAAS\AAAS services

  • Excellent knowledge of infrastructure technologies, standards and processes

  • Excellent knowledge of application technologies, standards and processes

Supervision Responsibilities:

Other Requirements:

Regular international and domestic travel. Reasonable extension of the working day should be expected commensurate with the needs to fulfil the obligations of the role

Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS, IT or equivalent work related experience.

  • Preferred

  • Advanced degree specialized in Finance

  • ITIL v2 or V3 expertise / knowledge

Experience:

  • 10+ years in IT planning, Financial Consulting focused on service pricing and financial constructs

  • Knowledge in recovery mechanism, chargeback, service costing

  • Prior professional services consulting experience

  • Experience with exposure to senior leaders and C-level management.

  • Management of a team with resources in multiple geographies.
