The opportunity

Cyber & Investigative Services (C&IS), a part of Information Security, enables over 330,000 individuals across 150+ countries to access systems and information securely. As a member of the C&IS, the Vulnerability Management Service Owner partners closely with senior technology leaders across the enterprise and various technical experts in the organization, focusing on key areas such as requirement prioritization, process enablement, relationship development, and driving strategic initiatives in support of the EY security posture. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience managing a vulnerability management program - experience building a program and familiarity with enterprise environments will further enable the candidate’s success.

Your key responsibilities

  • Oversight of the vulnerability management service, ensuring the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the vulnerability lifecycle at EY

  • Provide strategic direction for vulnerability management to ensure alignment with the organization's overarching cybersecurity strategies and policies

  • Consistent and productive engagement with stakeholders across the enterprise to embed vulnerability management leading practices and clarify stakeholder requirements across the organization

  • Work closely with Cyber Threat Intelligence to identify and prioritize new, high impact vulnerabilities

  • Collaborate and escalate findings to responsible teams for remediation to improve the EY attack surface

  • Gather, analyze and report on vulnerability management metrics, and provide regular briefings to senior management on vulnerabilities and mitigation activities

  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to remediate identified vulnerabilities and ensure that appropriate corrective actions are taken

  • Coordinate internal audits related to vulnerability management and help to ensure necessary actions are carried out promptly and effectively

Skills and attributes for success

  • Understanding of core Information Security principles and experience driving product strategies and roadmaps for information security products

  • Practical knowledge of security applications and technologies, as well as operating system platforms including Windows, Linux, Network and Cloud technologies

  • Experience with developing C-Level reporting, participating in and managing discussions with senior leaders and being a driving force behind action

  • Strong analytical acumen and solution orientation to guide the team in reducing risk while enabling the business

  • Experience building and cultivating strong relationships across all levels of a matrixed, geographically and culturally dispersed organization

  • Effective communication and analysis skills to break down complex issues, formulate solutions, and influence partners at various levels of the organization including senior and/or executive management.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • 10+ years of experience in information security, with a focus on vulnerability management

  • 3+ years conducting threat assessments and reporting security posture and developments to senior leadership

  • Proven experience managing a vulnerability management service in an enterprise environment, balancing the business’ needs with security

  • Demonstrable understanding of risk management frameworks, cybersecurity technologies, and threat and vulnerability management tools

  • Strong knowledge of hybrid environments

  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams and stakeholders at all levels of an organization

  • Knowledge and experience managing large data sets and reporting processes

  • Strong communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex security and risk concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Knowledge of OWASP tools and methodologies

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Deep practical understanding of enterprise security tools and capabilities

  • Senior level experience in Cyber Defense operations

  • Familiarity and working knowledge of tools like Qualys, Wiz, Splunk, etc

  • Security certification such as CISSP is a plus

What we offer

The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $151,700 to $283,600. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $182,000 to $322,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
