Ernst & Young IT Services is responsible for planning, developing and managing all the technology used in EY. Employing more than 3,700 people in over 100 countries and serving over 200,000 employees, we are organized into nine different functions. This includes the internal-facing Strategy and Research function for Information Security. This function guides EY’s security capability planning and adoption. The Emerging Technology Security Research team, as a part of Strategy and Research, provides research and assessments related to innovative technology.
Information Security takes a proactive approach to protecting EY’s brand through robust technical security controls, a clearly defined security strategy and ongoing compliance and incident management programs designed to detect and protect against increasingly sophisticated threats against the organization.
Under general supervision, the Emerging Technology Security Researcher investigates disruptive and transformational technologies to understand their security implications. The Researcher will collaborate with other Information Security, technical, and internal business teams. The Strategy and Research team determines long-term potential of technically innovative solutions and the security concerns related to their adoption.
Your key responsibilities
Research innovative technology concepts to determine their applicability to EY strategies
Determine utility of emerging security products
Cultivate an internal network of relationships to grow Strategy and Research team’s influence
Provide feedback to the team about new or emerging customer needs
Seek, develop, and present potential additions to EY's strategic security capabilities
Analyze and report upon immature technologies based upon ambiguous or incomplete data
To qualify for the role you must have
Knowledge in several technical security domains, including cloud computing
Familiarity with translating information security concepts into business and technical terms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Extraordinary research, speaking, and writing skills
Comfort making decisions with incomplete knowledge
Ideally, you’ll also have
Network-based vulnerability exploitation tools and techniques
Application security source code assessments
Security risk assessment methodologies
Windows and Active Directory in an enterprise environment
