The opportunity
Continued focus on technology advancements and innovation is a key component of the BTS growth strategy. The Global BTS Technology leader is responsible for advancing the technology enablement agenda and innovation initiatives for the practice. In addition, working closely with key stakeholders, this leader will be responsible for the development and deployment of a technology plan that aligns with BTS strategy and priorities, optimizes business processes and supports creation of new service opportunities. The Technology leader will engage with Technology Product owners to manage prioritization of projects, meet agreed-upon timeline and budgets and confirm project plans that have been prepared to most effectively and efficiently meet established objectives.
Your key responsibilities
Oversee a portfolio of technology tools and capabilities to support the BTS strategy, including new applications, enhancements to existing applications and operational support of current applications
Provide input to the overall technology strategy to ensure it is aligned and integrated across the SSL and with the overall Tax service line and firmwide business strategy
Develop recommendations for strategic direction and/or assist in problem solving as strategic issues arise
Be an advisor to BTS leadership on new technologies and their application within the business
Have a solid understanding of the specialty practices within BTS and their technology requirements
Develop and maintain a communications strategy around technology developments for various BTS stakeholders and audiences
Be accountable for monitoring, managing and delivering technology including specific client technology milestones, functionality, budgetary matters, and related key success factors to maximize use of allocated technology spend
Able to translate technology into business terms for BTS professionals and to translate business strategy into technology terms for key stakeholders
Collaborate effectively with Finance, Talent, Client Technology, Transformation Zone and other business enablement functions
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have
A degree in Computer Science and/or a business-related degree; or equivalent work experience
10 +years’ work experience, including:
With complex IT projects and differing project phases
In a global role; understand the challenges of dealing with multiple cultures and market environments
Ability to resolve project challenges and needs that are of varying complexity (with leadership support where needed)
Be a strong self-starter and lateral thinker, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently
Demonstrable experience in managing multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
Strong influencing and communication skills - maturity to interact with senior leaders in the organization, and (where required) to resolve issues or challenges as they arise
Ideally, you’ll also have
A high level of motivation and a self-starting attitude
Ability to develop relationships and rapidly build credibility
Ability to work well in a team environment
Excellent PowerPoint, Word and other MS Office program skills
