ABOUT PROGRAM MERCURY

Program Mercury is a large, multi-year, enterprise-wide process transformation that will replace more than 1400 EY business systems and related processes with an integrated, SAP centric platform that will standardize and harmonize activities throughout the organization and significantly improve how EY manages its business. Program Mercury is a key enabler of EY’s Vision 2020, directly supporting the efforts of a number of transformation initiatives across the Firm by streamlining the application portfolio, reducing operating costs and providing a platform to deliver services more efficiently. Program Mercury is currently in preparation of delivery for Release 2.0 and Wave 1 planning for Americas and United Kingdom & Ireland. Program Mercury has successfully delivered to Canada, Europe and South Africa in Release 1.0 and is looking to build on this success with Release 2.0 and Wave 1.0.

ABOUT THE MERCURY SUPPORT TEAM (MST)

As an organization jointly owned by the business and IT, the MST is a centralized and global organization which will provide operational support for the delivered Mercury solution and manage and support the Mercury user community. The MST will play an integral role in governance of the Mercury solution and the global template from both a business and IT perspective and will evolve to work closely with the business in enabling the benefit and value to be realized from the investment in Program Mercury and to set the future direction and technology road map to support Vision 2020.

JOB SUMMARY

The Batch Optimisation Business Analyst will be involved in all aspects of supporting batch improvements and optimisations within the MST, including the successful planning, scheduling, analysis, preparation and delivery.

As part of the MST Batch Optimisation effort a business analyst is required to ensure we have a bridge between the business and IT requirements for batch processing.

The batch business analyst role will facilitate workshops and discussions between teams to ensure all aspects of batch processing has been investigated and solutions found.

As part of the batch optimisation team they will be called upon to run analytical workshops and get involved with batch design discussions including scheduling requirements.

A technical background is a must with hands on experience in SAP.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Demonstrable track record of batch analysis within SAP production and non-production environments.

  • Facilitate the gathering of information and requirements as directed by Project Managers or Program Manager

  • Assist Project Managers in completing project documentation such as PMP, business requirements, project status reports

  • Maintaining RAID log (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies, Decisions) for the specific area

  • Assist Program Manager and Project Managers to identify and manage inward and outward dependencies from within the Mercury program.

  • Coordinate with project team, Batch Technical Lead, and PM to develop and execute User Acceptance Strategies.

  • Coordinate with release management team to develop the deployment support required.

  • Coordinate with PMs and BA’s in other workstreams within the MST and program to identify and take advantage of synergies between projects activities such as test strategies, requirements gathering, UAT, project documentation

  • Assist Project Manager in coordinating workshops and meetings.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reporting into the MST Batch Operations Lead.

  • Service Delivery Teams, e.g. Finance, GFIS, Enterprise Data Warehouse teams

  • Third party vendors and SI support teams

  • Business and IT partners on release schedule and communication of progress.

  • Operations managers to achieve successful transition of project deliverables into production support.

  • Communications and change management resources with EY global services.

  • Working closely with IT service functions for alignment and delivery.

  • Work closely with MST Transition team from a technical and business perspective to manage deliveries.

  • Explain scheduling concepts and train support team members in preparation of scheduling changes

  • Work across technical and functional teams to consolidate the batch into larger scoped jobs to replace the use of country specific jobs where feasible

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience working with SAP, Control-M, Change Management ChaRM, Solution Manager and ServiceNow or other workload automation tools.

  • 4+ years direct work experience in BA capacity utilizing formal methodology

  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

  • Experience working in a global environment with a project team dispersed across multiple countries.

  • Strong familiarity with SAP software and tools

  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Flexible during times of change.

  • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills – ability to coordinate meetings via phone and online collaboration

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and concerns – identifying impact to scope, budget and timeline

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

  • Very good understanding of the customer strategy, services and business processes where it applies to batch processing.

  • Ability to work and team effectively with IT Services groups and other management personnel including on a global, virtual basis.

  • IT background with experience across the SAP development life cycle with experience in different project phases.

  • Demonstrates commitment to IT methodologies, processes and standards for transition planning and support.

  • Proven experience with a Fortune 500 company working in a global environment.

  • Extensive experience working within 3rd party vendors as service providers.

  • Define Process Models, Process Flows, Escalation Paths, Review Analytics and RACI development.

  • Complete Impact Assessments and have the ability to identify and manage Risks/Issues.

  • Experience with working with incident and problem team to resolve issues.

  • Experience with dealing with Operations and Service Support teams.Experience across packaged and bespoke systems and infrastructure, ideally on an international basis.

  • Experience of Service management techniques gained through IT program/project delivery and in an IT support environment.

  • Understanding of business processes and finance workflow is preferable.

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly and indirectly supervise staff members in the development, implementation, and delivery of systems to business and or technical requirements.

  • Recommend the selection of and be responsible for the performance management of staff members.

  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of team members and/or business representatives as appropriate.

  • As appropriate set priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinate work activities with other supervisors.

ANALYTICAL/DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage issues escalated from other functions or groups.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience of having worked on large, global IT deployment programs including preparing for go-live and supporting the immediate post go-live period.

  • International travel may be required along with certain projects requiring for more than a month onsite. You must be capable of spending potential larges amount of time onsite.

  • ITILv3 certification preferred

  • History working with either IBM or SAP as a vendor.

  • Knowledge of Control-M tool or other workload automation tool

  • Identify improvements in monitoring and management that can be enabled through Control M or other tools

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10 years IT related experience.

  • Approximately 5 years of experience in SAP batch management is essential.

  • One or more professional certificates to supplement formal education.

  • Good experience in client-facing roles.
