Job Summary:

As part of the Go to Market & Strategy team in MBA, the Business Relationship Lead will have a blend of business development, marketing and business acumen. This person will build and manage strong relationships with strategic accounts for Markets,

BMC and AWS across APAC Area and Regions.

He/she will be responsible to strategically position MBA as the partner of choice for all business enablement, marketing and administrative support related work. The person will work closely with the senior global, regional and functional representatives in the Markets, BMC and AWS teams across EY. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the headcount targets and work type penetration levels are met for their respective Accounts by leveraging the MBA COEs.

The key priorities for the business relationship lead are

  • Foster, develop and maintain positive relationship with business partners, sponsors and internal/external stakeholders by strong understanding of their evolving needs, expectations, perceptions and key business imperatives

  • Define specific, targeted and individualized ‘account’ management plans to manage and maneuver customer relationship and customer perceptions. Should be able to identify hidden risks and suggest mitigation plans

  • Collaborate constantly across MBA Delivery Centers, CoEs and beyond into the wider GDS to ensure clients business requirements are being met with exceptional client service and leading practice service delivery

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Work with stakeholders to understand their strategic and go-to-market priorities and enable optimum support around using the MBA COEs to fulfill the demand

  • Build and maintain business relationships with regional and global teams, understand their business priorities and advice on GDS support accordingly

  • Work with regional, global, industry and service line leadership teams to help deploy the globally prescribed best practices around markets, BMC and AWS offerings

  • Reporting out business metrics around operational excellence, best practices, efficiencies gained, resourcing, quality management etc.

  • Work closely with the Service Delivery and Execution leader and COE leaders to formulate go-to-market plans and client expectations.

  • Understand the innovation, automation and process streamlining of the CoEs and work closely with the COE leaders to effectively share the success stories with key stakeholders/customers

  • Take stock of the health of the services and the penetration of the services within focused accounts

  • Responsible for ensuring all service delivery escalations and resolutions are communicated in consultation with the concerned COE/s

  • Build a relationship of trust and openness with client leadership and stakeholders to become the Go To person for non-Service Delivery issues, and/or aware of any issues that affect the overall GDS image

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Ability to use a strategic, solution-oriented approach to creating interest in our unique value proposition with senior level executives.

  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Leading end-to-end client accountability on all business opportunities and pre-transition assignments, involved in regular interactions with prospective clients in the form of workshops and meetings.

  • Ability to see and present the “Big-Picture” while focusing on finer details of projects, opportunities and campaigns

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, leadership skills, and strong analytical skills

  • Strong understanding of GDS solutions and business operations

  • Excellent analytical skills to analyze the business issues / challenges with a view to supporting the right decision-making process

  • Ability to work independently and flexibly

  • Outstanding written and oral communications

  • Prior experience of account management/ sales / marketing

  • Ability to interpret the results and demonstrate impact

  • Ability to develop and implement strategy for the key business areas

  • Experience in project management – managing the deliverables of others and monitoring the overall status of a project, and its associated work streams

Job Requirements:


  • Postgraduate – Preferably MBA


  • Approximately 12-15 years of relevant experience (i.e. Sales, Business Development, Shared Services Consulting, Customer Relationship Management)

  • Analytical skills experience preferable

  • Appropriate experience demonstrating above listed knowledge and skills
