Desktop Deployment Manager
As the Desktop Deployment Manager, you will be taking on a new role accountable for the end-to-end delivery of updates to existing and new desktop applications across 275,000+ desktops. You will act as the conduit to projects that require a desktop deployment and coordinate for these projects the end-to-end activity from packaging, configuring through testing and ultimately deployment. You will orchestrate the highly detailed delivery of new and secure updates while enhancing the desktop experience. This role is critical to our overall business - ensuring stable, consistent and minimally invasive delivery to our end users.
In this role you will also:
Initiate, build and sustain productive relationships across IT Services and the business
Monitor and manage successful, fit for purpose end-to-end delivery of Desktop components
Oversee and provide perspective to team on approach for active Deployment efforts - primarily focusing on managing the activities across the different functions in Operation, resulting in full operationalization of the project deliverables.
This includes activities during the project, such as proactively driving and socializing environment change requests, bridging engineering and operational efforts and support
Deliver Desktop components focusing on Desktop performance while meeting our business need
Maintaining end-to-end accountability for customer satisfaction and overall delivery excellence
Prioritize deliveries in conjunction with various customers (projects in the service delivery functions or otherwise)
Managing overall expectations of Customers and the team
Overseeing technical elements as well as customers needs while ensuring technology and support meet business needs and productivity
Collaborating closely with business partners and across IT Services who are an integral part in Desktop Delivery
Should have good people management skills with ability to lead and motivate the team
Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff
Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training
Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures
Selects appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools and applications and use accordingly.
Demonstrates analytical and systematic approach to problem solving.
Communicates fluently orally and in writing and can present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Is able to plan, schedule and monitor work activities in order to meet time and quality targets.
Is able to absorb rapidly new technical information, business acumen, and apply it effectively.
Good appreciation of wider field of information systems, its use in relevant employment areas and how it relates to the business activities of the employer or client.
Five or more years of experience in various aspects of IT or project management and at least 2 years experience in managing desktop deployments.
Experience of leading small to medium sized teams in project delivery
Good knowledge of Operations, Infrastructure Engineering and functional organizations along with
Solid experience in applying RACI diagrams
Good knowledge, capabilities and management in:
Skills in developing actionable implementation roadmaps focusing on compact timelines and minimal budget impact
Microsoft certified (optional)
ITIL Foundation (optional)
