Global Compliance and Reporting is an integrated suite of Tax and Accounting services that EY provides to our multinational clients. GCR offers the ease of managing compliance & regulatory filings by:

  • Taking care of the complexity of regulatory affairs across multiple jurisdictions

  • Centrally managing the global compliance and reporting activities

  • Controlling the cost of managing compliance across various countries

Globally, tax and accounts preparation activities are conducted mostly in the local countries and hence requires a wide network of EY professionals to work together to deliver to the client expectations. The project management professional will be part of the service management function of the engagement governing the delivery of the global engagement while working closely with EY engagement leadership, client and any relevant third party providers (where applicable) to provide visibility and control over data and filings worldwide.

Job purpose:

The job holder will work on a number of client engagements, where they will be involved in coordinating all service management aspects of a multi- geographic Tax and Accounting outsourcing engagement. They will act as the ‘key’ client contact overseeing the delivery governance. In addition, they will support the engagement partner on business development by working on key proposals and coordinating the preparation of documentation and fees.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implementation phase – Post the awarding of the contract to EY, there is a detailed project phase where the GCR business model needs to be implemented across the countries in scope. This involves extensive collaboration with EY professionals across various functions and countries, local client entities, central client team and possibly 3rd party service providers. Main tasks for the Global Services Manager in this phase would include:

  • Implementation Planning and relationship management:

  • Draft detailed implementation plan leveraging existing templates and functional expertise

  • Identify key dependencies for implementation and work through to ensure delivery of implementation as per agreed timelines

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across EY engagement leadership, EY local offices and external client stakeholders

  • Knowledge transfer:

  • Oversee local EY-client knowledge transfer meeting schedules and outcomes

  • Work with central client and EY teams to design delivery processes

  • Work with relevant functional experts to clarify scope related queries from any stakeholder group

  • Govern implementation delivery is progressing as per agreed timelines

  • Monitor and control implementation with adequate stakeholder reporting

  • Contracting:

  • Have a deep understanding of the statement of work and design contractual requirements based on the engagement

  • Oversee all contract related activities are delivered on time as per the firm’s risk policies

  • Study scope changes and relevant impact in terms of fees

  • Facilitate fee discussions and negotiations with central client teams

  • Issue and risk tracking and reporting

  • Work through issues and risks in implementation while coordinating with all stakeholder groups

  • Service delivery phase:

  • Service delivery management: During service delivery, local EY teams will prepare tax and accounting compliance deliverables to help the client entities meet the jurisdictional requirements in the respective countries. Main tasks for the Global Services Manager in this phase would include:

  • Service Management:

  • Monitor progress of service delivery across multiple functions and countries

  • Review status reports and own reporting function to central client team highlighting achievements, risks and issues for the period

  • Work with stakeholder groups to resolve issues and risks in service delivery

  • Change management:

  • Review change requisitions from local EY teams to validate scope and fee

  • Work with regional and central client teams to gain change approval

  • Manage scope and fee schedules to ensure change is reflected in billing & contractual

  • Billing Management:

  • Oversee inter-company and inter office billing process including managing any issues that arise during billing

  • Own financial health of the engagement

  • Relationship management:

  • Regularly review the service status with the team to ensure the issues and risks are captured and addressed adequately

  • Maintain proactive relationship with external stakeholders

  • Work with multi-functional teams to effectively resolve service delivery obstacles

  • Act as the first point of contact for any escalation, provide the team with sound guidance and ensuring good working relations

  • Maintain understanding of client’s finance transformation agenda and highlight additional areas where EY could support

  • Mentoring engagement team members on aspects of service management

Desiredskills:

  • Ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships acrossmultiplefunctions and organization levels

  • Good analytical, judgment, tact and decision-making ability along with critical thinking skills

  • Excellent written, oral and presentation communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Strong negotiation and relationship management ability

  • Adept at MS suite with experience in business case & proposal build outs

  • Ability to multi-task across various engagements while retaining relevant insight into individual projects

  • Ability to coach and develop team members to deliver effectively in complex environments

Desiredexperiences:

  • At least8years ofworking with major global corporation (Big 4,Finance shared services etc.)withatleastthreeyearsin project delivery or engagement/ account management

  • Have formal education in commerce/ finance

  • Atleast 2 years of client facing experience

  • Knowledgeable in finance processes and be able to deal with large volumesof data

  • Proficient on MS Project/ Word/ Excel/ Power Point

  • PMPor similar project managementcertification
