Job summary

The overall purpose of the PMO Analyst II role is to provide PMO disciplines to ensure a high quality of service to our customers. PMO disciplines include:

  • Finance Management

  • Benefits Management

  • Governance and Reporting

  • Planning Management

Under direct supervision of a PMO Manager, this person provides project administrative support for a portfolio of projects with specific focus initially around project and P&L finance, reporting and benefits management.

The PMO Analyst

  • Monitors and manages IT expenditure (purchased services, technology maintenance, hosting) ensuring that all IT financial targets are met, and examining any areas where budgets and expenditure exceed their agreed tolerances.

  • Ensures timely payment and processing of all invoices

  • Manages P&L risk and is able to accurately report and forecast on all costs incurred

  • Assists with the definition and operation of effective financial control and decision making, especially in the areas of service, projects and component cost models and the allocation and apportionment of all incurred IT costs.

  • Independently validates external information from multiple sources. Specifies and applies appropriate analytical techniques and reports results to clients and management.

  • Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required.

  • The PMO Analyst will interface closely with Service Delivery Leaders, Managers and Team Leads, Project Managers and other key stakeholders within EY Technology, Finance and Procurement.

Job requirements

Experience/Skill requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent work experience

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in project administration, program administration and/or a PMO in a financial management role

  • 1 to 3 years in an IT environment preferably with finance responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and address financial risk. Anticipate possible funding issues before they occur, identify possible solutions, work with team to implement solutions

  • Make decisions based upon solid understanding of EY Technology principles, Firm and business objectives and project needs

  • Good stakeholder management

  • Attention to detail

Suggested technical certification

  • Working toward a relevant program/project management qualification (e.g., Prince Foundation, CAPM) is preferred

  • Familiarity with ITIL v2 or 3 would be advantageous
