The opportunity
The selected candidate will:
Provides project management expertise and manages the delivery of part of a large project or a small to medium project, acting independently to deliver project to schedule, budget and scope
Maintains project plans, monitor costs, manages project risks and creates clear and attainable milestones, adjusting the project plan as required to successfully deliver project objectives
Ensures the project follows established client and specific processes including Statement of Work (SoW), Installation Guides, Staging Guides, etc.
Supports the Senior Project Manager on project deliverables and ensures project deliverables are signed off by Program Manager and/or Director
Your key responsibilities
Manages the delivery of a small project or part of a larger project, including defining the project scope with support from the Senior Project Manager, and manages a small team, milestones, cost and profitability.
Assigns responsibilities to team members and monitors progress against cost and schedule
Develops project objectives and identifies potential risks and issues, incorporating risk, issue and change management measures to keep the project on track
Builds in and follows a cost risk management approach for the project (i.e., accounting for non-billable, project overtime requirements, etc.)
Makes recommendations on strategies for improvement from the initial project engagement through to financial close
Meets with Senior Project Manager regularly to review burn analysis and recommendations and works with Senior Project Manager to update cost projections to properly reflect current project status
Responsible for reviewing of billing requirements and may make recommendations for improved cash management, revenue enhancement opportunities and cost recovery opportunities.
Monitors costs, timescales, resources and allocations, taking action where variances from the plan occur
Develops relationships with internal and external stakeholders and facilitates the relationship between stakeholders and project team to ensure accuracy of functional requirements/specifications
Skills and attributes for success
Strong knowledge of Project Management Processes/ Project Controls
Ability to create tools/ independent spreadsheets to help analyze burn rate/ earned value/ earnings variances and cash projections
To qualify for the role, you must have
Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, IT, Science, or other Technical qualification 5-7 years in a corporate IT environment
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) / PMBOK / PRINCE 2 / Project Management Professional (PMP)
Experience creating, executing and amending project plans
Experience applying formal project management methodologies and disciplines to manage small projects
Proven experience using, interpreting and making recommendations from financial data
May have experience working as a scrum master
Ideally, you’ll also have
Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
Program Management Professional (PgMP)
6 sigma certification
