EY-GDS – Strategy and Transactions (SAT) – Assistant Manager -QA
As part of the EY SAT GDS team you will be responsible for ensuring quality of software solutions, that EY engagement teams uses to support the EY Strategy and Transactions (SAT) mergers and acquisitions methodologies.
This role will work closely with developers, product and business subject matter experts (SMEs), architects. Deliverables are designed and delivered via our product lifecycle roadmap and release plan.
This role will be instrumental in designing test cases, scripts for testing of SAT applications and bespoke tool development. This role requires the individual to bring in-depth experience in test case design, efficient test execution and defect detection by using some of the best software testing practices.
The right individual should possess exposure to all stages of test life cycle (requirement analysis, test design, component testing, end to end testing) with working knowledge of web technologies and databases.
We’re looking for Assistant Manager with expertise in software testing to join the EY-SAT GDS QA team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a new service offering.
Your key responsibilities
Identify scenarios and write test cases from user stories, acceptance criteria and specification documentation
Create test plan for a software release keeping scope, timelines, resources in mind
Create test cases which leads to uncovering of non-obvious defects
Test execution including positive, negative and alternative path scenarios further analysis of test results
Collaboration with the software developers, product owners, and other QA team members during the development phase
Identify, document, and re-execute defects found in the software application
Track and report the QA activities for a release or sprint
Identify dependencies and environments shared with other applications
Identify/create/contribute to the regression repository for each release. Test repository updation with every release
Test results compilation and sharing comprehensive results with insights to stakeholders
Gaining mastery on the application under test by interacting with SMEs and relevant documents
Assignment of work to direct reports. Responsible for mentoring and training for counselees
Skills and attributes for success
Must have an extensive working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and different types of testing
Experience in testing of client server and web-based systems
Experience in database testing using Microsoft SQL Server environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procs, jobs, functions, etc
Experience or working knowledge in creation of complex SQL queries such as joins, aggregations, groupings
Experience in performance testing using JMeter (would be a plus)
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps
Familiarity with working in multiple environments and the purpose of the various environments
Problem-solving, analytical and follow-up skills
Must have attention to details
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience working with remote teams across multiple time zones
Experience and ability to work in a team based Agile environment
Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables
Willingness to grow and learn an understanding of the business process
To qualify for the role, you must have
Qualified applicants should possess bachelor’s degree in technology discipline OR a combinationof education
Relevant experience of 5 to 7 years in Software quality assurance
Certification software testing is desirable
