Job Summary:

The SBC/SIP Engineer role is responsible for design, configuration, implementation, testing, deployment and steady state management of Carrier SIP networks and EY’s Audio Codes systems including Session Border Controller, ISDN and Analog Gateways. You will develop solutions utilizing the appropriate methodologies. You will apply Infrastructure Engineering methodologies and standards as well as your own expertise to these projects. The role requires you to work closely with Strategy, Architecture, Data Networking, Operations, Skype Engineering, Cisco Call Manager, Alcatel PBX, UM Messaging Teams on design specifications. Plans all changes in accordance with financial and compliance directives established by both IT and other EY governance groups. Work across functional teams on opportunities to provide training or support implementations as needed. The role is an individual contributor and is managed by the SBC/SIP Product Owner within Collaboration Services Organization.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Audio Codes SBC and ESBC Systems

  • UC (Microsoft) + PBX/IP-PBX experience

  • Strong understanding of Country Carrier SIP networks

  • Strong background in IP Protocols

  • Extensive knowledge of fixed line telecommunication systems

  • Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN communication systems

  • Audio Codes TDM/IP gateway configuration and support

  • Maintain Continuity of Operations (COOP) readiness

  • Adheres to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

  • Supports L3/4 incidents and vendor escalations

  • Installation engineering and support

  • System backups and maintenance setups

  • Work with Telecom Service Providers globally

  • Skype for Business and Teams Knowledge A+ Knowledge of PC environment

  • Drive and support globally the technology change from Carrier ISDN (E1/T1) circuits to centralized Carrier SIP and from Legacy PBX to Skype for Business.

  • Drives the appropriate analytics, documentation, and project planning as well as roadmaps for new and enhanced services aligned to the expressed or identified business needs of EY internal clients.

  • Supports management in the End of Service Life (EOSL) activities in accordance with deliverable dates for next generation services and best practices in the industry on aging of services.

  • Proactively maintains an understanding of the compliance and financial controls guiding the IT and EY businesses to appropriately position services , as well as position the effective and efficient changes while providing value and maintain operational readiness.

  • Maintains the appropriate execution of all defect correction, release management activities and other related changes aligned to operational readiness and consistency in services. Works across IT and the vendor on required technical changes and to agree appropriate infrastructure services to support the current and next generation of all Audio Codes SBC’s

  • Maintains appropriate knowledge of services and products of external vendor and suppliers and manages their activities in project deliverables.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

The role requires a solid analytical acumen and solution orientation to understand the nuances of Audio Codes SBC product portfolio, SIP Protocol and Advanced Routing. Utilizes knowledge to make role appropriate decisions including the efficient handling of change requests as well as determine effective ways to address current service issues. The role additionally requires consultative questioning, influence management and critical thinking skills to understand a current directive and recommend viable solutions that are both effective and supporting the value to the business.

Educational requirement:

  • College degree in related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.) or comparable job experiences

  • Experience:

  • 3-7 years supporting Audio Codes Session Border Controllers. Able to exhibit a progression of increasingly complex job responsibilities. Knowledge of Skype for Business, UC Cisco/Alcatel, active directory, data networks and service management experience
