Organisations are increasingly outsourcing systems, business processes, and data processing to third party service providers in an effort to focus on core competencies and reduce costs. As this continues to grow, so too does the need for comfort to be gained in relation to these outsourced activities.
EY works extensively in this area and provides attestation services to a range of major organisations. We have ambitious plans to strengthen and broaden our offering in this area through our Belfast Risk Hub. There will also be opportunities to support our wider IT Risk Practice which provides a range of services including IT Internal Audit, IT Controls Reviews, Information Security and IT Risk Management. We need excellent people, across all grades, to join us and to be part of our exciting growth strategy.
Your key responsibilities
As a Manager in our IT Risk Practice you will be responsible for managing teams to deliver assignments, often with limited supervision. You will have responsibility for:
Leading a portfolio of engagements with our clients, reporting to a Senior Manager or Director, responsible for the day to day running of the engagements and the quality of the teams output.
Managing and creating reports and via review ensuring the highest quality deliverables prior to Senior Manager’s / Director’s review.
Contributing to developing the market for Third Party Reporting services across all sectors, identifying sales opportunities and escalating these to senior management.
Establishing client relationships with senior stakeholders.
Working with prospective clients to agree, scope and plan the delivery phase of engagements.
Contributing to the creation of proposals and marketing material.
Managing engagements to time and budget.
Contributing to the development of the IT Risk Team and acting as mentor and coach to the junior members of the team and leading by example.
Skills and attributes for success
You will ideally have a strong track record in the delivery of third party attestation services which will include experience and familiarity with SOC Reporting and relevant standards for example:
It is likely that you will have experience gained in a Big 4 (or comparable) environment, where you will have demonstrated the skills and attributes required to deliver the outlined services. However, this is not essential. We also welcome applicants with a strong background in IT Risk, Governance or Audit.
Wherever your experience has been gained, we would expect candidates to have a good understanding of key IT risk areas including:
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning
Systems Development and implementation
IT Human Resource and Service Management
Knowledge of IT infrastructure and operating systems
To qualify for the role you must have
An IT related qualification such as CISSP, CRISC, CISM, CISA, or ISO27001 lead implementer or auditor is desirable.
We also welcome qualified accounting or auditing professionals with suitable experience.
