EY is one of four Major Service Providers (MSPs) to the Australian Defence Department’s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) in a partnership with Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR). Known as the KEY Team, we have been appointed as one of two MSPs to provide professional services to the Air Combat Systems (ACS) Branch for a minimum 4.5 year period.
The ACS Branch has nodes in Newcastle, Amberley and Canberra. EY has a number of commercial advisory role opportunities at Amberley.
The RAAF Amberley roles are embedded with client in the Air Combat and Electronic Attack System Project Office’s (ACEASPO) Business Management Unit (BMU). ACEASPO delivers acquisition and sustainment support for the Super Hornet and Growler capabilities in partnership with industry. The SPO is leading the implementation of the Enterprise concept for ACEA capabilities through the development of the ACEA Enterprise. The ACEA Enterprise consists of a number of Commonwealth, Industry partners and United States Navy (USN), working within a Single Management Framework (SMF). The ACEA capability, made up of the Super Hornet and Growler platforms and the Mobile Threat Training Emitter System (MTTES), will be operated and supported as an enterprise by the partner organisations.
Key areas of activity and responsibility include:
A range of practitioners are required to support the commercial functions:
Provide high level Strategic Business Advice pertaining to contractual and commercial strategies and frameworks for ACAESPO capability outcomes.
Platform contract management and amendments to ensure contract performance meets Material Sustainment Agreement (MSA) and Material Acquisition Agreement (MAA) obligations.
Development and implementing of future ASDEFCON contractual support and acquisition arrangements.
Appropriate closure of ASDEFCON sustainment and acquisition contracts as required.
Transition of commercial arrangements from acquisition to sustainment.The successful candidates will be accountable for the service delivery within applicable Commonwealth policy and compliance frameworks and will work as part of a small integrated teams across the SPO. The practitioners may be required to work Service providers may be required to operate in management team lead roles and / or participate in IPTs / tiger teams to support the commercial functions.
To qualify for the role you must have
Demonstrated commercial nous with strong commercial experience and a higher degree qualification
Experience in complex procurement, ideally in Utilities, Resources, Infrastructure or Transport with an eagerness to grow Defence domain experience and interest
An existing Australian Government security clearance (NV1) or an ability and willingness to obtain one in short order
Well-developed relationship and inter-personal skills
Self-directed and initiated
Capable of operating in an integrated contractor and Commonwealth Team
Ideally, you’ll also have
- A sense of humour and a desire to enhance your commercial negotiation and relationship skills
