Working with a network of colleagues in the EU and across EY, the Head of EU Advocacy is responsible for creating and executing strategic, content-led initiatives to support EY and contribute positively to the shaping of the EU regulatory agenda in the public interest (eg through impactful conversations, speeches, public consultation submissions, thought leadership etc) on core topics.
The role will report to the Partner for Regulatory Relations and will have a dotted reporting line to the Head of the EY Brussels Public Policy Office.
Your key responsibilities
Work on selected EU initiatives with EMEIA’s Public Policy Leadership, other Brussels Public Policy colleagues and external advisers: develop content-led programs to support constructive dialogue with key EU institutions and other EU stakeholders on a number of key topics.
Guide, help develop and oversee the development and management of content (e.g. talking points, point of views, surveys, studies, publications, responses to public consultations, presentations etc) to support the above.
Help identify areas of potential misalignment between different parts of the business and resolve those issues by working with the relevant colleagues.
Act as an EY ‘stakeholder ambassador’ and as the main relationship manager for a number of EU individuals/organizations, as part of the team’s broader EU Public Policy stakeholder engagement.
Responsible for leading and managing project team members.

In depth knowledge and experience of working with the EU institutions, on policy and regulatory matters
Has strong networks within the EU institutions.
High energy self-starter who has built and created new teams and functions, and who is able to establish themselves in a newly created role.
Experience in building and managing inclusive and diverse teams.
Sensitive to how people and organizations function and able to anticipate obstacles and respond accordingly
Prior experience in delivering exceptional results in a multinational firm with complex matrix structures and global reporting relationships.
Maturity and personal judgment to operate appropriately in a political and business context.
Business and commercial acumen to understand EY’s business and the potential impact of regulation.
Ability to work in a fast pace environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university degree is required, and preferably a Masters’ degree.
Minimum 15 years’ experience in a related field
Background in highly regulated sectors. Background in financial services or audit/professional services in particular is preferred.
In depth experience and knowledge of the EU institutions, their work and policy approach
Experience of working with the EU institutions would be a bonus
Some travel within EU may be required
