EY IPLogics is a recently founded division of EY, focused on advising companies on the protection and valorization of its intellectual assets (Intellectual Property, IP), such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, designs and domain names.
With this breadth of services, EY IPLogics offers these services on the Flemish, Brussels and Walloon market and cooperates cross-border with EY colleagues to support protection and valorization on an international level.
EY IPLogics is currently looking for a dynamic and motivated scientist/IP-advisor to join the growing team of professional advisors.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Using your scientific and technological background, you advise and support companies with innovative projects. You will be in touch on a day-to-day basis with the most up to date technologies and developments from diverse sectors and you will have meetings with colleagues from start-ups, SMEs, large companies, university colleges and universities.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
Capture and analyze technological developments and determine the best protection strategy, based on the available intellectual property rights;
Link the intellectual property rights with the existing tax incentives (e.g. innovation income deduction) in cooperation with EY R&D Tax colleagues;
Protect, apply for and assist in obtaining intellectual property rights for clients (e.g. drafting and submitting patent applications, applications for trademarks, etc.);
Valorize the technical developments/software/services (in cooperation with the legal colleagues from HvG and EY Subsidia) by:
Negotiating agreements (license agreements, source code escrow, collaboration agreements, etc.),
Drafting ‘freedom to operate’ –studies,
Exploring new markets for existing innovations by creating patent landscapes,
Develop innovative solutions to offer our IP services (e.g. conducting royalty audits using blockchain technology)
You are graduated with a Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering, Bio-engineering, Sciences, Civil engineering with affinity for ICT and you have experience in protection of and/or valorization of intellectual property rights;
You distinguish yourself from other candidates by your team spirit, positive and flexible attitude;
You have a creative, analytical and empathic mind ;
You have a critical mind and can think conceptually;

You have good writing skills with an excellent knowledge of Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus;
