The Public Policy Executive focuses on public policy and regulatory issues that affect our business, the profession and the capital markets. We support EY in the following ways: Identifying and responding to public policy and regulatory developments; Developing and communicating EY's policy positions; Influencing the direction of policy reforms; Engaging in efforts to improve the corporate governance environment; Proactively engaging with global stakeholders on public policy matters; Coordinating with the Global Public Policy Committee, which comprises representatives of the six largest global accounting networks who work collectively to coordinate on public policy and capital markets issues of relevance to the profession.

The EY Public Policy function enhances EY’s brand and reputation globally through focusing on public policy and regulatory issues that affect our business, our profession and the broader capital markets. What we hear from policy makers, regulators, investors and other stakeholders helps inform our views and actions as we navigate the complexity of operating globally in over 150 countries.
The Public Policy function is a small but influential team operating globally.In EMEIA we are creating EU Public Policy Hub in Brussels (Hub) that we will work more closely with the EU on their policy work; teaming with other EY disciplines including those other EY colleagues who also interact with the EU institutions e.g. EU account team, FSO, Tax, etc.In so doing, we aim to better articulate the value that EY can bring to the EU institutions and thereby earn their trust.

We are expanding the scope of our EMEIA Public Policy hub in Brussels deepening the coordination of the Public Policy efforts by showing the leadership, building trust with stakeholders and influencing regulatory change.
Your key responsibilities
Working with a network of colleagues across EY, the Public Policy Content Manager (PPCM) at the EU Public Policy Hub is overall responsible for developing and managing content especially on EU-related Public Policy topics. The content (e.g. talking points, point of views, surveys, studies, publications, responses to public consultations, presentations etc) will be used internally and externally to facilitate EY’s engagement with stakeholders e.g. through powerful conversations, participation in public consultations or dialogues at other occasions on topics relevant to our business and to our stakeholders’ interests. In addition, the role will involve monitoring of EY regulatory issues and communicating within EY on the emerging regulatory developments that affect EY business.
Working with the EMEIA Public Policy leadership team as well as senior key contacts in EY Service Lines, functions and groups, the PPCM is responsible for identifying, connecting and working together with Subject Matter Experts within EY to manage and create the content needed on relevant topics. The role will lead a small team of professional experts in public policy – which may involve secondees – to ensure that we bring a wealth of insight through the content created and delivered.
The role will have a dual reporting line to the EU Public Policy Hub Leader and another designated member of the EMEIA Public Policy Leadership team responsible for horizon scanning and content delivery.
This role will operate in support of the EMEIA Public Policy agenda and will form a critical part of our new EU Public Policy Hub to create a transformational shift in our public policy approach from defensive and reactive to proactive and forward looking.
The newly created EU Public Policy Hub will adopt a pan-EY, integrated approach across the full spectrum of stakeholders to contribute to shaping the EU agenda. Given the scale of the debate, strength of views and momentum behind the calls for change, we need to elevate the conversation from a focus on structures to a higher-level emphasis on trust in business and associated assurance needs.
Skills and attributes for success
Leading the monitoring, analyzing and mapping of EY regulatory issues and communicating within EY on the emerging regulatory developments that affect EY business with a focus on the EU
Sourcing, planning and delivering publications, surveys and public consultations as well as managing ad hoc research which could involve commissioning surveys and studies to provide depth of insight.
Driving and coordinating internal work streams/task forces as well as other groups that have been set up to facilitate the management and development of content
Work with a network of colleagues across EY to coordinate effective management and development of relevant content
Build relationships and maintain connectivity with Services Lines, functions and groups on an Area and Regional level that can support content development.
To qualifyfor the role you must have

Experiencing of leveraging/unlocking spareresources across EY
Ability to synthesize complex information fromvarious resources
Ability to challenge views/perspectives whilesecuring buy-in to proposals
Business and commercial acumen to understandEY’s business and the potential impact of regulation preferable
Leadership skills including the ability tocoach and develop high performing virtual teams
Ability to work in a fast pace environment,managing multiple priorities effectively
Strong analytical and written English skills
Experience of chairing groups
Good interviewing skills
Ability to deal with unexpected or last-minuterequests, while executing more regular tasks and programmes
Demonstrable integrity and discretion withsensitive and confidential information
Comfortable with ambiguity and EYpolitically aware
Knowledge of reporting, audit, tax and/oreconomic crime issues.
Ideally,you’ll also have
Knowledge of the EU institutions, their workand policy approach
Knowledge of European languages other thanEnglish
MS Office and other media skills.
- Asthis role focuses on the European Union and its Member States, some travel maybe required.
- Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent university degree is required.
Minimum 10years’ experience and knowledge of at least one of the following areaspreferred: assurance, tax and/or financial crime
Good EYnetwork across EMEIA (preferably in more than one Service Line).
