Job Summary:

As part of the Tax Emerging Technology Lab this position is focused on inventing and developing AI-based technologies that will transform EY’s Tax business. Partnering with other lab members and professionals across EY, the role is also responsible for providing guidance and technical solutions around issues of machine learning, natural language processing, and other AI disciplines relevant to the lab’s mission.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • In collaboration with internal domain experts and his/her network of AI technology experts, develop concepts for AI-based products.

  • Define, design and develop client-focused AI or cognitive solutions leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Probabilistic Decision Making and related methods and paradigms, and supporting technology.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Professional (SMP) for both internal and external stakeholders to help establish EY’s AI competency.

  • Work closely with various industry and functional teams to incorporate AI-based capabilities into solutions to drive value for our clients across all of our service lines.

  • Perform AI research and development (R&D) work, develop tools and assets to support AI solutions and products

  • Build awareness of the AI competency, and personal relationships across EY

  • Participate with account teams, on designated key account pursuits, to supply expert guidance on both the availability and applicability of existing solutions; and to discover client needs which can be addressed with AI solutions not currently developed.

  • Mentor junior scientists and advise client-facing professionals engaged in pursuits and delivery.

  • Generate EY AI thought leadership publications to showcase CTL research and EY tax emerging technology

  • Speak at key industry and EY client conferences on CTL EY tax AI science published thought leadership

  • Research and support development of global tax industry standards for AI and emerging technology leading methodologies

  • Represent EY’s AI competency to various internal and external audiences.

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Works independently and requires limited supervision.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Expert-level background in deep learning, machine learning, Natural Language Processing, or Graphical Models

  • Experience designing enterprise-grade software

  • Drive to solve customers’ problems using technical creativity and hard work

  • Ability to communicate technical matters clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, win supporters and spur people to action.

  • Excellent consultative, listening, communications and analytical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers

  • Critical thinker with excellent judgment and strong initiative

  • Recognized expertise in an artificial intelligence and machine learning applications as evidenced by relevant publications or awards, preferred

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Graduate degree (PhD preferred) in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related fields (statistics, applied math, computational neuroscience)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in the market, with relevant AI, NLP, ML design and build experience

  • Experience in the lifecycle of enterprise-class software development
