The opportunity

EY Technology (EYT) creates, manages, and operates all the technology used by EY covering the entire process life cycle, from understanding the needs of the organization’s different Areas and service lines, through defining appropriate strategy and architecture, to the delivery of solutions and managed operational services.

Beyond the basic provision of reliable, cost-effective IT infrastructure and operations, EYT is increasingly acting as a catalyst for business success. Priority projects such as Global CRM, Data Center Consolidation, and messaging and collaboration are essential to delivering on EY’s Global Priorities, and in sustaining our competitive advantage as the most globally integrated organization in professional services.

Within EYT, the Enterprise Technology Sourcing team supports infrastructure and services at a global enterprise scale. The Client Technology Sourcing team supports key programs and solutions globally in partnership with our EYT and Service Line colleagues in order to continue to enhance EY’s position as an technology driven industry leader.

Technology Sourcing is part of the Procurement Services within Supply Chain Services and focuses on the requirements from the Technology team and managing circa $1.8B of spend annually.

Your key responsibilities

You will report into a Technology Sourcing Leader and be responsible for leading procurement projects and activities, sourcing execution and effective stakeholder engagement in assignments.

Individuals must be self-starters and be able to deliver value for the organization.

The role of the Technology Sourcing Senior Associate may include:

  • Execute end-to-end strategic sourcing activities in accordance with the EY Procurement policy and provide excellence throughout the process analyzing information, delivering sourcing strategies, identifying requirements and opportunities, negotiating terms and conditions, and contracting products and/or services;

  • Work with Technology related stakeholders and business leaders to continuously identify opportunities for the organization within the category;

  • Be an advocate of the Procurement policy and relevant processes to facilitate more efficient and effective methods of getting value for money;

  • Adherence to and incorporate EY Procurement policy and processes, including collaboration with Legal (GCO), Risk Management, IT, other Procurement categories as appropriate;

  • Coordinate, gather, develop, and share subject matter expertise through the various channels;

  • Drive an inclusive and sustainable sourcing mindset to build a better working world;

  • Complete procurement diagnostic of supplier spend in nominated EY country/countries. Including tail spend, and identifying better ways to facilitate sourcing activities;

  • Produce recommendations/options (while identifying associated benefits e.g. commercial, product/service value, risk mitigation and insights) for an efficient long-term procurement support model, capturing procurement and supplier spend management activities;

  • Provides structured management and accurate progress reporting during regular meetings;

  • Minimize contractual risks to EY and manage supplier relationships according to EY’s Procurement and Independence policies;

  • Act as a trusted business advisor to EY stakeholders, aligning procurement projects with the business’ pipeline and providing Exceptional Customer Services while delivering both brand and quantitative value to the bottom line through cost savings and cost avoidance.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience with stakeholder management with the ability to collaboratively co-develop strategies and set and manage expectations.

  • Experience with negotiating contracts related to software licensing & rationalization, cloud based solutions and professional services

  • Experience with negotiating contracts globally.

  • Experience of managing complex service agreements both from the commercial and service delivery side

  • Experience of working in a Procurement Services team in a complex and global environment

  • Experience working in an IT role as part of delivering technology solutions is a plus

  • Strong influencing and networking skills as the organization relies on working in cross functional teams across borders

  • Good knowledge of the IT vendors and new technologies is important to successfully work with the EYT teams

  • Up to date with all issues in the services space including Outsourcing, Infrastructure as a Service and offshoring

  • Strong communication skills required; must have the ability communicate in English effectively, transparently, and timely across multiple mediums (email, voice, IM, etc) in a global environment

  • The ability to independently manage and prioritize workload

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and have an appetite for challenge

  • Provide high level of Exceptional Client Service

Ideally, you’ll also be

Degree educated with:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a strategic sourcing role

  • Alternatively, technology or business operations experience may be considered in lieu of some, or potentially all, of the sourcing experience for the right candidate.

  • Experience of stakeholder management in their current or previous role

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $57,700 to $101,500. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $69,200 to $115,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
