IT Advisory Manager, Financial Services, Regulatory Compliance – Consumer Compliance

You’ll help our clients develop a vision for the future of compliance with leading design thinking approaches to risk and compliance business problems, while assisting them in compiling with deposit, lending (mortgage, personal and auto), credit card laws and regulations and consumer operations by contributing to the assessment, remediation and improvement of compliance programs, agile technologies, risk and controls, and automated processes and systems (including data analytics) for the first, second and third lines of defense. You’ll focus on enabling digital solutions based on an array of software development life cycles and agile-related activities, including performance remediation and look-back activities, assessments, big data, AI, machine learning and advanced analytics.
Your key responsibilities
You’ll likely spend most of your time leading teams and engagements where you’ll deliver strategic enhancement of IT systems, digital transformations or operational processes supporting the regulatory compliance function within financial services firms. You’ll focus on the delivery of regulatory remediation, process and technology improvement and delivering insights to our clients through enabling technologies. You’ll also help the client understand and comprehend existing regulations from regulatory agencies like CFPB and the OCC. You’ll be involved in understanding the current business, regulatory and industry trends to deliver world-class solutions to solve our clients’ toughest challenges.

Consumer products (e.g., mortgages, home equity loans, student, auto, personal and all other types of loans, deposit products, credit cards and add-on products)
Risk, controls and regulations (e.g., all mortgage and HMDA regulations, deposit regulations such as Reg. DD, Reg. D and Reg. CC, lending regulations such as TILA (Reg. Z), RESPA, Card act and E-sign, CANSPAM and TCPA)
Consumer banking operations
Ability to guide engagement teams into performing and documenting activities related to:
Design thinking certification for rapid prototyping of solution concepts
Story boarding skills and experience with wireframe and UI/UX prototyping tools
Assisting the senior manager or lead solution architect with evaluating solution components and developing experience in big data, Hadoop, SAS, R, machine learning methods, AI, RPA, Python, and Java solution architectures
Ability to evaluate and recommend to client AI frameworks – conceptual solution level skills of Microsoft Cognitive tool kits, Google TensorFlow, IBM Watson, AWS AI and ML solutions
Translating business requirements into IT system functional requirements
Conducting compliance assessments, remediation, testing against regulations and tool development
Developing system change and configuration options
Implementing changes to third-party and custom development systems
Testing system changes
Assessing compliance programs and technology
Performing data analysis on subsets of client data and assessing data availability, adequacy and quality
To qualify for the role, you must have
A Bachelor's degree and more than five years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and more than four years of related work experience; a degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or related field; more than four years of relevant experience at a financial services company or comparable experience working as an advisor to a financial services company; a degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or related field; MBA or MS degree preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise and build an effective team of technology consultants through all phases of the project technology life cycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, configuration/implementation, conversion and testing
Ability and comfort level researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
Demonstrated ability to understand compliance risk and control based on regulatory requirements
Valid driver's license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel both nationally and internationally to meet client needs
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience in either first line of defense in a consumer banking operational or technical role, second line of defense compliance officer, or internal audit
Data and compliance analytics tools – SQL, SAS, R, Spotfire, Tableau, Qlikview, Cognos, big data
Architectural knowledge of AI frameworks – conceptual solution level skills of Microsoft Cognitive tool kits, Google TensorFlow, IBM Watson, AWS AI and ML solutions
Big data and machine learning analytics
Hands-on agile delivery experience from product to DevOps implementation
UI/UX prototyping skills
Understanding of consumer regulations for lending, including mortgage, credit cards, student lending, auto loans, etc.
Understanding of latest digital process development, digital integration and robotic process automation (RPA)
Experience in a compliance technology function at a regulatory body such as state regulator or CFPB is a plus
Experience in core banking industry or compliance technology software company preferred
Understanding and experience of SDLC leading practices
