EY's Debt Capital Markets practice ("DCM") provides clients with objective advice on strategic corporate finance and capital raise solutions through a highly focused debt advisory team with world-class, global execution capabilities.

Our DCM team works closely with our investment banking industry teams to understand our client's business needs, financial profile and strategic direction in order to help design capital structures and financing strategies that facilitate the achievement of their goals. Our team works on a variety of transaction types including acquisitions, growth financings, refinancings and restructurings. We work on the basis of creating long-term relationships with our clients and our teams assist at every stage of a transaction to identify potential risks and execute on attractive opportunities.

Our capital markets advice and solutions are often combined with the broader capabilities of EY, whether it be with working capital solutions, operational integration, transaction diligence or tax advice. We work with our other service lines and teams to provide our clients with comprehensive solutions.

'The opportunity

You'll be working in a team environment with other investment banking professionals on a variety of projects across a range of sectors. Our team works to understand the client's business drivers and trends, its capital structure constraints and opportunities and its go-forward strategy and business needs. We overlay this understanding with our knowledge of capital markets, investors, and instruments to design and execute financing solutions that accomplish our clients' goals.

Your key responsibilities

As a DCM vice president, you will be a vital member of the team supporting and executing corporate finance engagements. You'll be focused on analyzing financial data and identifying key trends behind the performance of a business, preparing financial models and cash flow scenarios, conducting research, and helping to create presentations to communicate our insights and recommendations. You will also help support and develop your junior team members as they move through their careers. As a vice president, you will be leading analyst and associate deal team members in the origination and execution of financing transactions. This will include opportunities to lead client and investor discussions and negotiations at both the pitch and in-market stages of transactions.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Advise companies regarding strategic and corporate finance alternatives.

  • Perform extensive financial, credit, and valuation analyses

  • Identify key issues and potential areas of credit, valuation and transaction risk within engagements.

  • Perform In-depth sector, market, and company-specific research, including rating agency analysis.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree and at least 4-6 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and at least 2-3 years of related work experience.

  • Existing Series 7 and/or 79 plus Series 63 securities licenses (in good standing) is preferred.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills, including the ability to problem solve and exercise sound independent judgment.

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel to review and develop financial models

  • Efficient use of research databases, technical ability to manipulate data.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as necessary at short notice.

  • Ability to lead deal teams of analysts and associates in capital markets transactions

  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and investors

Ideally, you'll also have

  • A proven record of excellence in investment banking specific to capital markets or M&A.

  • Established networking skills with clients and investors.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $200,000 to $250,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
