Business Analyst, Business Consulting - Finance (Health Care Operations) (Manager) (Multiple Positions) , Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Chicago, IL.
Provide business advisory services to help clients in the healthcare industry improve operations. Generate standard or custom reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for review by health care providers, executives, physicians, clinicians and staff. Synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for action. Work collaboratively with health care providers, executives, physicians, clinicians and staff to create business intelligence tools/systems, including design of related databases, spreadsheets, outputs, operating models, operational process improvements, operating policies and procedures that reduce operating costs and improve margins without sacrificing quality of care. Design and implement financial systems and enterprise cost management systems. Advise clients on maintaining or updating business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, business processes or methods that enable sustainable and measureable improvements. Develop process flows depicting pain points in the business process, conduct detailed analyses to draw conclusions, and develop recommendations for improvement. Assist clients with planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance measuring, and reporting services. Advise clients on resource utilization, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.
Manage and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Information Technology, Health Care Administration, Health Sciences, Medical Informatics, Nursing or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Information Technology, Health Care Administration, Health Sciences, Medical Informatics, Nursing or a related field and 4 years of work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 4 years of healthcare industry experience and/or in providing consulting services to clients in the health care industry.
Must have at least 2 years of experience in ALL of the following:
Engagement planning, budgeting, and work plan development;
Mobilizing and managing engagement teams;
Defining deliverable structures and content;
Facilitating buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client;
Managing the quality delivery of work products;
Managing engagement economics and engagement risk;
MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio; and
Project Management including experience with MS Project.
Must have 2 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing data driven solutions for the health care industry, including computerized health care provider systems, managed care payer systems, or health information management systems.
Must have 1 year of experience in Clinical IT and/or Systems Integration.
Must have 2 years of experience delivering financial advisory services focusing on healthcare payer or provider systems.
Requires travel up to 80%, or which 20% may be international in order to serve client needs.
